    I like grilling Veggies too

Looks tasty. I like to do the same. I used to oil the veg before putting them on, but they tended to just get soggy. Followed a Sam the Cooking Guy video and grilled to get char marks and grill flavor before hitting with a "brushing sauce" at the end.

    Grill grates , again...

Same here. My GGs have stayed on my Genesis since they arrived a couple years ago. They were my early-lockdown era retail therapy. One of the best grilling purchases I ever made. The only thing I do is change from rails to flats, depending on the cook. Often I use a mix, with flats on the left...

1st time taking GrillGrates on vacation

We stayed at a cabin in the Smokys back when I owned just a gasser. The cabin had a Weber kettle, and we used it for some basic grilling like steaks and burgers. It was my first time fooling with charcoal in years, and it sort of nudged me toward my eventual purchase of a WSM, nice kettle...

    Boneless Pork Shoulder woes

I don't wrap butts, but I have noticed that other foiled meats may give a "false" high temp read when in the foil, and once unwrapped will read significantly lower. That could be part of your issue. When resting, try wrapping the foiled butt in a towel and putting it in an ice chest. It will...

    Carnitas!

Looks great. There is a weekend-only place in Texarkana called Tacos Mi Pueblo. Their carnitas sopes, topped with some their green sauce, is one of the most delicious things I have ever eaten.

    Tuna Steaks last night

Thanks for the report. I've seen those tuna steaks at Sam's and been tempted to try grilling some. Perhaps it is time.

Using Non-Stick Cooking Spray for Grilling & Barbecuing

For years I used Canola spray on my grill. But once I got Grill Grates on my gas grill, I found that they get so hot that the Canola spray burns and smells fishy. Very off-putting. Now I keep a squirt bottle of grapeseed oil, and I apply it to the cool Grill Grates with a paper towel before...

    Pig tails.

The only way I've seen folks use them is throw them in a pot of slow-simmered mustard/collard/turnip greens.

    Will some people NEVER understand?!

In the 70s, 4-H had a chicken-Q contest. We cooked over direct heat on the little round open-top grills. We were taught to use the coffee can as a starter, and we used lighter fluid. It worked really well. Even with the fluid, the fire is small at first once the fluid-flames go down. There...

    Friday, pizza night

Looks good. Those pizza ovens are so tempting. I need a bigger house and yard so I can accommodate all the cookers I want.

Hmmmm ... new season of BBQ Pitmasters ?

I skip all the competition shows except Top Chef, but I will make another exception for this show. It’s tolerable.

    Happy TVWB 24th Anniversary

With this site lasting so long, I hope there is a business succession plan in place to keep it going after Chris is no longer able or willing to run things. Keep it going for the next generation of backyard cooks.

When is time to buy Weber stock

If you buy a share, you get invited to the annual shareholder meeting. Just received this invite: WEBER INC. ‌Annual Meeting‌: ‌March 23, 2022‌ I wonder what they will have to eat. And will it be cooked on a SmokeFire?

Good game! I’m rooting for Joe Burrow and the Bengals to win the AFC. Maybe they will meet the 49ers in February.
