Yep, I did this with mine before I switched to wood handles. I've been too afraid to put all of the weight on the old wood handles so now I just set it down. Never thought of hanging the smaller grate like that though. Thanks for the tip!

Finally finished cleaning these all up and outfitted with stainless hardware. I'm hoping to use the oldie as a mini smoker. I think the 3 vents should work great for temp regulation. Thanks for looking!

Does your grill not have the one touch cleaning system? Check the video Bob posted in this link for how the system is supposed to work. I sweep the blades a couple times before every cook.
