Picked up an old broilmaster double grill today...

I don't have a picture of the left side burner, but as I recall it was a typical bow-tie stainless burner, and it did have that stainless heat shield underneath. Similar to this: This is the "half-burner" for the right 'oven' side that I posted before. This lets you see the side view with its...

    Summit Platinum in PA

I personally really like those. There is one a long drive away that would tempt me if I hadn’t already succumbed to the Vieluxe temptation😆. Other than the firebox, those are really nice with real 304 stainless frame and cabinetry. The ad mentions flavorizer bars. They are very pricey to replace.

Picked up an old broilmaster double grill today...

Maybe ask @Chris Allingham to move this since it has gone from a “maybe” idea to a true gas grill restoration thread? It would be nice to “tag” it as an Other Restored Grill.

Picked up an old broilmaster double grill today...

Yes it does! Mine does have igniters, so the "universal" collector and related stuff could be a big help. Might also need one of those grates for the lava rocks/briquettes. At least they have SOME stuff. Still will need to improvise on some things.

I was shocked to see they still had the exact "half-burner" that went with mine on "limited quantity" "clearance". I decided to bite even though it may be a LONG time before I get to it. I knew I would kick myself later if I didn't. Yeah, you aren't going to fill a parts order for one of these...

The burners on mine were totally different. I posted the "half-burner" used in the oven side on mine. The regular grill left side used a more typical Broilmaster burner. I guess those differences reflect that mine was a later model vs. yours being the original offering. It would be great if it...

Quick partial disassembly of Weber genesis 1000

Looks like an interesting option. I have always stuck to regular stain and spar (NOT poly) urethane. It would be nice to hear how this works for you both in application and later on after a year of use.

2008 Genesis S-320 LP SS Restoration

That is some very cool fabrication and great ideas for others. :coolkettle: I have a soft spot in my heart for those "sidewiders". I hope you will "tag" your thread so that it gets saved in our "sticky" folder of grill restorations. I think your ideas could be a big help to others trying to...

I think it will be better than that! I hope I can be of some help along the way. Look forward too seeing what it looks like.

Awesome! I am sure it will be a project. I never got past first base with mine so far, but it is a really cool and unusual grill. Please share some pictures. I will be very curious to see the grates and other internals.

So sad that such a nice overall superbly built grill can hardly be given away, while people readily plop down $300-$400 for super cheap imported tin cans at the big box stores:cry:.

Besides the boring one on the right, the other three steaks were seasoned with Jack Stack Steak Seasoning from our KC trip.

Top Sirloin on the 1st gen Summit As I SLOWLY try to finish my Vieluxe project, I am glad I have my restored 1st generation Summit as a go to grill. I have had some fun cooks this year on an old yellow kettle, a Pit Boss Pellet Kettle, and even a Ninja Woodfire. But, still, it is nice to have a...

Seems like the right reference. The left side is a regular gas grill, and while the grate is not a size that Broilmaster has made for some time, I believe it uses the same burners as some others. The right side is supposed to be an oven and has a "half-burner" that I doubt you could get now...

Yes, that looks like an older one than mine (which is in pieces!) I wish that was by me so I could get it for parts. As @Josh Dekubber noted, to bring one of these back will involve some fabrication.

    Curb Alert !!!

Not 'classic old' and obviously less than perfect, but for 5 bucks, maybe some new wheels (or inserts), and some elbow grease someone could have a nice kettle in classic red!

    Changes made to Weber grills

I can sure see that, John! But I am having fun slowly, but surely, restoring what I believe to be a very first year Vieluxe where the logo and lettering were actually ENGRAVED in the stainless-steel control panel. I know enough to not even dream that your customer service could assist me, but...

    Changes made to Weber grills

John, Once again, your behind-the-scenes insight is so informative! We are very blessed to have your participation on our board. I guess I will just say that I applaud the moves Weber made with the newest Summit gas grill, including the cast aluminum firebox. I guess now we just need to put in...
