Yellow deposits on flavorizer bars, SS grates, and upper firebox

MOLD>>>>>>> Of course after I posted, another search using different words found my own post from 2019. It's mold. Kudos to Bruce, RichardS and LMichaels from that thread. Probably from all the humidity we had during monsoon season that doesn't usually provide as much wet weather.

Yellow deposits on flavorizer bars, SS grates, and upper firebox

Hi: Just got to cleaning my 2007 NG E-320 Genesis and found a yellow coating mostly on the bars and a little on the bottom side of the SS grates and a little on the upper sides of the firebox. Lid has zero deposits other than the usual black from cooking. Not sure if this is just byproduct...

Stumbled across a Junior <2 miles from me

Summer is over and they are rushing to get on Route 6 or 25 to sit in traffic to get over either of the two bridges back to the mainland. Great find on your part! Now you can move around freely in good weather for another month or so.

    Dave Santana/"rcplanebuyer" Grates

Just saw the earlier response that Dave Santana sent out. That would explain why I didn't hear back through his Craigslist postings.

    Dave Santana/"rcplanebuyer" Grates

Great to hear that hopefully Dave is back at it! This past spring I was ready to splurge for a set of grates for my 2007 Genesis. Hopefully once I get some extra funds I'll be able to go for a set.

    Pellet Grill Upgrade Delay

Unlike Rich, I did the upgrade on the Camp Chef controller. Our grills are almost identical. New features on the new controller worked well until I made the mistake of downloading an updated app on my phone. All the features work fine on the controller, but I've never been able to get it to...

    BE CAREFUL OUT THERE!!!

I check out our bank, investments, and credit cards every morning just in case. Some of them have two tier verification direct to your cellphone. Another place that we have found fraud is in Medicare claims. Lastest gimmick is for Covid at home tests. We've had 3 claims for 8 tests per...

    Almost a Disaster Last Night.

I've done the exact same thing. Only saving grace was I had dumped the pellets from the hopper other than those in the auger. Just would have run out of fuel.

Slow ‘N Sear Deluxe I am truly an idiot

Nothing like having a spare part as Weber keeps dropping the parts everyone wants earlier and earlier. I even bought an entire used 2007 Genesis for spare parts to keep two of the same grills online.

Fugitive from RI here. What kind of grill do you have? What's the issue you are having? I'm no guru and my Weber knowledge is pretty limited. If it is about a Summit, I'm not your guy.

Just bought a total time saver

Mine came today and like Mack, no leaks. Great tool for the price. Will check out our son's installation next week. He has a bulk propane tank which always seems to have an odor near it.

Just bought a total time saver

Will not work for our Cuisinart commercial stainless either. Always loved the Saladmaster commercials when I was a kid. Boston tv stations had a guy named Chris who would demonstrate how the lids would stay on while swinging the pans as he also sliced and diced with the Saladmaster. Our...

    Instant Brands: Chapter 11 bankruptcy

Have to agree about the Instapot. Unfortunately, I will miss Corningware, Corelle, and Pyrex much more. Still have a lot of those items in daily use going back to the rise of the Amana Radar range in the 1970's. Other than occasional accidents which produce an amazing number of sharp...

Nevada > Las Vegas: Jessie Rae's BBQ

Unfortunately, the original restaurant on Valley View burned last night from an electrical fire. I hadn't been there in awhile and didn't know they had opened a 2nd location in Henderson. They've been big supporters of the Golden Knights since their inception. Hope the restaurant is...

Is this used Genesis a good deal - HELP identifying and some Q's from a newbie

looks like a NG all the way since there is no hole in the right side panel where the line from the tank to the manifold would go through. If it is a 2007 year, the manifold with have a support bracket under it. Check out the four legs closely for rust. Once those are compromised, it becomes...

    Picked up a Flame

Good score! What is it about rain on roadtrips? One time we went from southern Rhode Island to central Maine to pick up a retired Russian Blue breeder and it rained all the way in both directions. Even lost a rear disk brake pad on the Maine Turnpike on the way home. Went to north side...

RIP Roger Craig - SF Giants Manager 85-92

I only rooted for the Yankees once. Cost me 3 months of hot lunch money thanks to the Pirates! Saw a lot of games at Fenway, but the Red Sox always lost so I never really latched onto them. After that I did expansion teams, Mets, Angels, and finally the Blue Jays.

RIP Roger Craig - SF Giants Manager 85-92

If I remember correctly he was pitching for the Mets in the 60's during the early years.
