My son's first Weber- he'll never be the same

He's been telling mom he wants one of those toy grills to grill with daddy. Shoot ! Just put him on the real deal. He fell in love when he saw them the first time at lowes. I pulled it off the shelf then decided to put it back (wasn't sure what I needed to build a mini at the time). When I...

For people whom bought their WSM used.. How much did you pay?

Just picked up a 22.5 for $100. I've been watching for months on Clist. They rarely come up and if they do I usually am a day late and a dollar short.

My son's first Weber- he'll never be the same

My 7 year old son has been laying claim to the SJ I bought for the min build. Tonight he cooked the main course for dinner. About the only thing I did was help him pour from a new bag of charcoal and empty the coals in to the SJ. He learned to sear the main course ;) and move them to indirect...

Breakfast on the 670 with DIY griddle

Pancakes, anyone? Again, I'm still amazed at how they don't stick. The other thing- especially evident with pancakes- it just how even the heat is. I had as many as 5-6 pancakes on at one and had room for several more , even with sausage. When cooking in the kitchen, you typically make one...

Breakfast on the 670 with DIY griddle

Sorry, just now saw your question. Well, I wasn't sure if I wanted to cover that much real estate in my grill and I never really put that much thought in to it. All I had in my head was to measure each grate. I kind of like it this way. Depending on what I'm doing, it allows for a flexible...

    CL WSM 22.5....score

Wow, this thing was nasty! I did a really quick cleaning, just enough to be usable and so I didn't feel like I'm eating someone else's crude- it is different you know.... I wish someone didn't put aluminum tape around the door. I burned it out tonight but I had to leave. I thought it might...

    CL WSM 22.5....score

Ha! I've gotta clean it up, it's nasty! It was too dark for pics... Cold and rainy too , so I just unloaded it and ran in the house. Either I didn't know what I was doing or the lid didn't fit the body quite right . Like I said, it was cold, rainy and dark so I didn't take much time with it..

Breakfast on the 670 with DIY griddle

    1) with all the salt, I'm a little concerned about the drip tray and the cast aluminum ledges that support the grates. It would have to be corrosive. 2) having the seems tight, square and precise, as I've learned, really helps.... It's as if it's one big griddle because it's such a tight...

Breakfast on the 670 with DIY griddle

Yeah, I pretty much leave it up the whole time except when I'm preheating the cooking surfaces. I'll tell ya, you better have everything prepped before you step outside, it's all you can do to keep up with that much food cooking all at once. I got that plate in the pic so hot (burner under it...

Breakfast on the 670 with DIY griddle

Two packs of bacon (pack and 1/2 on at one time) this time and eggs over-easy.... This is too easy... Eggs on right absolutely no stick...I had the heat just right... The left was fine but just not as slick...I had turned the burner off on the right about 3 min before I threw the eggs on

Happy late turkey day from Alaska!

Is there that big of Time zone difference between the east coast and Alaska? ;) Looks great! So, what was the verdict? I wouldn't up doing two birds and one butt for thanksgiving.

Has anyone notched their OTG or Performer like the mod for the smoker?

The only reason I've hesitated is not for fear of cutting my favorite grill but , for example, when I use the snake method, I'm constantly moving where my probes enter the grill to stay aligned with the opening. I didn't think the probe wires could take the direct heat underneath them, so I...
