Anyone have any good lid holder solutions?

I have a black steel plant pole, think it's for hanging plants. Sticks in the ground, has 2 hooks, maybe 8" each. The pole is about 6' tall.

    Keurig Coffee Maker For Christmas

There's a couple roasters in Asheville. We have a roaster about 45 minutes from our home, too far to drive every week and shipping makes it prohibitive, to me anyway. What I found was a local coffee shop that gets coffee from the roaster I mentioned. They sell me the roasters whole bean for...

    Keurig Coffee Maker For Christmas

We have one and use it about half the time, manual pour over for the rest. We get Kirkland brand Pacific Bold, 120 to the box for $37 regular price, $32 on sale, which is when we buy it. Works out to .27 per cup, about half of what I pay for local fresh roasted bean. Bought a small box of...

    Grill light

I use a camping head lamp at times, works great to see what you are doing only it distorts or masks colors.

No cooler needed, GE WARM mode

We have a GE Profile with a 170 bottom end. While I've never checked it at low temps there is up to a 50 degree +/- swing in the temp at baking temps till the oven finally settles in. I'll have to check it at 170 just to know.

    Smoke

Thanks Lynn, good write-up. One of the issues I'm encountering is with the small capacity of the 14, for longer cooks I have to add a good deal of new coals to the fire as time goes on. When I do I get the thick white smoke for 15 minutes or so, same as when I first put the minion starters on...

    Smoke

Looking into the topic of having and maintaining the correct smoke in my 14. Figuring using minion method, starter on top of unlit charcoal. Do charcoal briquettes give off creosote? if so when? Same q for lump. How about when you add dry smoke wood chunks, it must give off creosote, I'm...

    Gravity feed charcoal grill

Not the first gravity feed, but probably the cheapest and maybe the first mass market. Here's the 1st that came up on a search. https://myronmixonsmokers.com/enthusiast-bbq-grills/our-bbq-smokers/gravity-charcoal-smokers/

How Do YOU Clean Your WSM?

The vents on my 14 are getting pretty sticky, especially the lowers which never get cleaned. Tonight I went to close it down after finishing a butt and 2 of the bottom vents were stuck. Freeing them up the little tab they use to limit travel got bent out of the way, not cleaning can also lead to...

    Weber once, Weber forever

To me it's a gas Genesis east/west 3 burner for bad weather (I don't have a covered area to cook in), or when I don't have time to start up the charcoal which adds 20-30 min. Being just outside Springfield MA I find I use the gasser more in the winter, being retired and having the time, I use...

New Weber pellet grills for 2020

I think the biggest plus to a dc fan is being able to vary it's speed easily, the down side would be the need for an ac to dc converter, which you'll need anyway for the controller.

How cold is too cold for a gasser?

Can't give a temp as I don't keep track. I grill all year here in western MA, don't recall being out in the real bone chillers so just as a guess I'd say 20's with a light or so wind, I skip it if it's too windy. Gets tough to tell when things are done right, end up over cooking a lot when it's...

New Weber pellet grills for 2020

Camp Chef has their Slide & Sear where you slide the deflector plate out of the way leaving your fire box open to the grate for searing. I agree it sounds like drippings would make a mess, but that's how they do it. Will need to wait till I can actually see the Weber first hand. Personally...
