    Does chimney brand matter?

Without reading all the above. I've had a cheap one and now a Weber. The coals start faster in the Weber but you still get the lower burning up more then the upper, just makes sense it would.

First Time Pizza Success on top. Failure on the Bottom

I check my stones for 550ish with an IR thermometer. I've never tried precooking the dough either. 2 min is a lot quicker then mine take, but I don't have a grill oven.

Where we stand on the smokefire

I hear you Rich. I wasn't going to pay $1000 to be a beta tester of the Smokefire, went with a Rec Tec. It's also my only non Weber.

    Sold out?

Stopped at HD just now for something else. Where there is usually 50 or more propane grills and smokers outside the door there were maybe 6.

    Sold out?

It's a good time to be a manufacturer of boats, RV's, smokers, and grills.

    Electric Pressure Washer Recommendation

I picked up a Sun Joe SPX3000-MAX electric, which looked like the most powerful electric when I bought it, this was to replace my old gasser which was a hassle lugging around. The electric works fine for most items but is not near as strong as the cheap gas one that it replaced. I figured I'd go...

    Burger Question

I have a hard time with the reverse sear so I've only tried it a couple times for burgs or steaks, I always end up over cooking. I find that the coals have ashed over by the time the indirect is done making them cooler and harder to sear over by the time the indirect is done. In general for...

    Have you started your garden?

We've had cows and a horse in the yard over the years, but never a pig.

What are your favorite BBQ tools? Best burger flipping spatula?

I use this turner in this set, the slotted one gets used very infrequently. The solid one is one of my favorite kitchen/grill tools, we take it with us when we go away for the winter. They have grill sets, sold out at the moment, with longer handles.

First smoke on a 14.5" WSM

I've only stirred the coals in mine a little bit, just to get some glowing coals when adding more unlit., never had the vents block, at least not that I noticed. My butts have been taking around 19 hours at 225-250 ish, you only did 10 hrs. I try and get the butt on before I go to bed around 9...

Wife made me buy a camper...

I went from a Smokey Joe to a Jumbo last winter while camping in GA, much nicer for a 2 level fire. No room in the camper for it so it rides in the truck bed. Badlands NP

    Crispy Skin

Heck, I can't even find salmon that's been scaled, no way I could think about eating it.

    Cast iron deep dish

This week was the 1st time I've seen yeast at the grocery store, picked up a few packets. This thread got me going so I made us a cast iron pizza for lunch/dinner. It was/is the best we've had since before the flu started. The dough came out great, Rec Tec 340 pellet smoker, 25 minutes to 600...

    Why I am moving...

Sorry to hear this Jon. Might be worth at least talking to an attorney, the threat of action may suffice.
