Another Craigslist Score - EE Performer, Blue

Well, here you all go. Pics, in no certain order. 4th pic shows some of the original plastic sheeting protectant. A bonus! The grill is missing the two end caps on the handle side of the tubing. Will need to find replacements. And the grill is "hidden" in the back yard, plain sight. That...

Another Craigslist Score - EE Performer, Blue

This hit Craigslist a couple of days ago, I think I surprised the guy by responding within minutes of it being posted. 1999, EE, that nice royal blue color. No dings, no chips. Frame is rock solid, no shimmy or shake. All parts are there. Heavy duty OEM Weber wire charcoal baskets included...

    New to me Q200

The griddle showed up yesterday, and indeed it has the clips in the box. The split CI grill I ordered was an Amazon return (I think, discounted heavily but stated to be "as new"), that may have the clips in it also. Glad I hesitated to order them.

    New to me Q200

Doing a quick Google of the OEM Weber part # I found this, just under $10.00: https://www.grillspot.com/weber-oem-cooking-grate-support-clip-set-65634 Anyone have any experience with GrillSpot? The clips are being touted as OEM Weber.... Edit:::: Part is $10.00, shipping is $10.00. Oh my.

    New to me Q200

Recently found a free Q200 on Craigslist, I was able to be the first response to the ad. Q200(0?) in nice condition, with a new igniter, a newer looking burner, came with (the cheap) stand and the original cover. Quite a nice deal. Cleaned it up, soaked the CI grate, got the burnts (new...

    Ditched the Weber Cart

I apologize for this. But.... More than a few years ago I was bartending at a wedding venue, weekends would be at least 3. Much money to be made, but damn, that music.

    Ditched the Weber Cart

Damn that's funny. I picked up a freebie Q200(0?) grill last week. While cleaning it up I noticed that the handle was on upside down. Yeah, I felt the need to get a screwdriver and fix it.

    Ditched the Weber Cart

For a true Grilling Cart you'll need to add the requisite bottle cap opener.

Craigslist FreeQ, how to determine model?

And some apologies are needed...I just realized there is a dedicated Q forum here on TVWBB. Off to go down that rabbit hole. See all of you in a month or two?

Craigslist FreeQ, how to determine model?

Thanks for all the replies. There is no tag/label under the side flippers, and nothing on the back legs. Maybe I'll just name it QAnon? Bud ump bump.....sorry, bad joke there. Gave it a spray of Simple Green, let it soak for a few minutes, then hit it with the pressure washer. Looks good...

Craigslist FreeQ, how to determine model?

Trolling Craigslist yesterday I came across an offer for a free Weber Q, with cart and cover. Incredibly I was the first response to the ad and the kind gentleman offered to hold it for me until today. Ran out this morning, picked it up Overall excellent condition, needs minimal cleaning. He...

    Anybody use their side burner?

The one that's visible is an E/W 2001 Genesis. The 5 hidden ones don't need to be admitted to. One may be a Skyline.....but I'm not telling.

    Anybody use their side burner?

Have been using my side burner pretty regularly, but tonight I was trying to get 1/4" of peanut oil to temp for fish tacos and could not get any heat out of the burner. Flame was there, just not enough. Two weeks ago had no issues. Last week cooked down some tomatoes for sauce/freezing. Today...

    Brisket Flat what happened?

Last week I found a brisket flat in the "used meat" section of the meat case, where for whatever reason they've been discounted heavily. In the past I've always had good luck with whatever I've brought home. Sat in the fridge for a day, then apples a 50/50 fresh ground tellicherry / sea salt...

Found this down the street, so I wheeled it home

If the grates are solid, and just CI (not porcelain coated) just wire brush them real good, coat with cooking oil and do another quick high heat burn. Cast iron is cast iron. Once it's sanitized, and the rust scraped off it's good to go.

Found this down the street, so I wheeled it home

Before replacing the stainless internals ($$$$$) get it going and do a high burn, see if it needs the cash infusion. New stainless just gets dirty, and it looks dirtier quicker.

    Late model Genesis advice?

And this is what it will be replacing after some modifications. Been in use for over 17 years now, with some very heavy use.
