    Thermocouple or not

On my UDS I had used a permanent probe mounted to the side of the UDS and it extended to the center, about one inch below the grate.

Heatermeter Aux. Thermocouple And two probe board V6.1(Final Version)

I would but I used a standard 8 pin IC pad, I would need to manually make the change. Also, I probably would not be able to as is, because I routed alot of traces close to the pads

Yeah, I love the DP. It's so good at keeping a stable temp. If you make one, make sure you change the charcoal ash grate, to be removable. I want to modify mine, but I would need to cut it out and redo it. Makes cleaning it much easier. Now, I just let it burn down on it's own, if I want...

Heatermeter Aux. Thermocouple And two probe board V6.1(Final Version)

It's been a log time since I had to troubleshoot a TC board, but have ran into this before and I usually fix it by resoldering the TC amp. I will even work on it while it's on, so I can get feedback while I'm working on it. Even though the TC amp soldering looks good, they aren't. Even using...

Port forwarding issue, not HM issue, But

Well, I have an issue that I have been trying to figure out with my port forwarding on my router. I have been trying to get Octoprint to be forward, so that I can view my 3d printer off network. But, nothing seems to work. My ip 192.168.103, and I put that into my port forwarding settings for...

    Which meat probes to use?

You cant go wrong with Thermoworks probes, they are probably the cheapest, best, probe that works with the HM. There is already presents for them. The BBQ Guru prpbes you would need to figure out the coefficients to get them to work on the HM.

Heatermeter Aux. Thermocouple And two probe board V6.1(Final Version)

The board is pretty self explanatory, as all the spots are marked. I always start with the TC amp and the resistors and work up to the bigger parts.

Heatermeter Aux. Thermocouple And two probe board V6.1(Final Version)

When I solder the 100k resistor onto the board, I use shrink tubing completely over the wire and 100k resistor. I then route wire around the board so that the resistor does not move

That still applies to current version of the board

    Build questions

Dampers are nice to have, but not needed. They do take some of the guess work out of controlling your smoker and make better mount for the blower.
