    Well Gary is 100% correct. I put the second vent on top of my 18.5 and lit it with the standard method. When the top coals were gray I put the unit back together and bam! Within 6 minutes it went to 398 with all bottom vents open and two top vents open. Put on a split turkey breast (about...

    Refurbished my Summit 450

    Just read this thread and will say that I had about the same upgrade to my Summit 450 this spring. The unit is 12 years old and still amazes me on how it is just like new. The temp gage is still accurate and I can get the unit up to 700 degrees in the summer. Six hundred plus on cooler days...

    David, I just ordered the jacket on Thursday and will keep you posted. I had replaced my ET-732 with 6 foot probes which are the same size as the probes on the BBQ Guru. I'm sure we can slide them up under the cover at the bottom by the slit for the GURU and then slide them in my probe eyelets...
