    Is OTG For Me?

A new 18 OTS retails for $80 at the big box stores. I haven't received the gold ash catcher yet, but I ordered it from eReplacementparts.com. Part number 63092 $22 plus shipping. I'm pretty sure the model number for the 18 OTG is 451001. The tabs on the ash catcher housing are supposed to...

    Is OTG For Me?

I have (had) a 22 OTG and a 18 OTS kettle. I find myself using the 18 more often than the 22 because like you, I'm only cooking for the wife and I. I sold the 22 yesterday and ordered the gold series ash catcher for my 18.

    Question about 18.5 OTG

Genius! Thanks for the tip....can't wait for the parts to get here!

    Question about 18.5 OTG

I ordered an ash catcher assembly to convert my 1998 silver to a gold. Unfortunately, today I flipped mine over and discovered that the leg sockets aren't welded to the kettle so that the gaps line up correctly to accept the ash catcher. Does anyone know if newer kettles were manufactured...

    Finally a Performer

Eh I missed one for $75 bucks. Barely used and in great shape. Ended up with a lime green 2009 for $170, and am happy so far. Sweet find though...congrats!

    My $62.61 OTG

Gotta love CL. Last spring I picked up a brand new in the box 18.5 OTS for $40. Turns out to be a wooden handle model from 1998 that the guy picked up at an estate sale. Then a few months ago I came across a 22.5 OTG for $40, and the seller threw in a bunch of grilling utensils, lighter fluid...

    First smoke!

Made my first attempt at cooking on the WSM yesterday. Smoked 2 beer butt chickens and 2 racks of spare ribs. Overall, I was very pleased! Food turned out great but I started losing heat around the 4th hour. Guess I'll just have to try again next weekend! :)

He's listing performer platinums on Craigslist now for $299, all four colors available. If I hadn't just bought my wsm I'd be paying him another visit

Why does everybody seem to have 3 or 4 or 5 different grills and smokers?

I love my wife but she can't cook, indoors or out!

Why does everybody seem to have 3 or 4 or 5 different grills and smokers?

All great responses, and similar to what I've tried to explain to my wife. I can't smoke a whole turkey in the 18.5 kettle. And at least we can eat the results after a day of smoking and grilling, right? Can't say the same about a project car. Plus it's much cheaper.

Why does everybody seem to have 3 or 4 or 5 different grills and smokers?

I forgot to mention that I have a 1998 18.5 OTS, a 2011 22.5 OTG, 2005 chargriller smokin pro w/ sfb and I just purchased a 22.5 WSM that I can't wait to smoke on. My wife thinks I'm nuts

Why does everybody seem to have 3 or 4 or 5 different grills and smokers?

I've been reading through some posts and a lot of signature lines list several grills and smokers. Please elaborate as to why?
