    Cooking for alot of People

Good luck Kev, I have a similar event planned, but not for so many people. Don't think I would try it with that many, I'd probably end up looking a twat! Where do you get your brisket from? I've used local butchers, but just been using rolled brisket (in-rolled!). It's been okay, but I think I...

    Webers New iGrill app SUCKS!!!!

Those figures are probably line of sight, anything in the way, aka a stone wall of a house, and you can forget it IMO. So it kinda defeats the whole object of monitoring whatever you cooking unless your outside with the transmitter.

    Webers New iGrill app SUCKS!!!!

I think the whole iGrill thing sucks, mainly 'cos the use of Bluetooth technology is limited to a few feet. Got my money back and bought a Maverick with RF connectivity. Apple have a lot to answer for, everyone wants to do things via an app nowdays:)

    iGrill2 connection issues

My house is built of re-constructed stone, walls. So the range was limited to me staying outside. Guess if you have a different construction, the range might be better. I see the UK Weber web site, now mentions 150' Line of sight connectivity.

Anyone modify the top grate retaining tabs? Rib catastrophe

Is it only me, but the two grates of a slightly different diameter. Had the same accident myself, until I noticed. The top grate is slightly larger, well it is on my wsm. No probs since I realised.

    iGrill2 connection issues

Bit late to reply Andy. I had an iGrill2. Quite excited when I got it, with the app an all that. Quickly realised its Achilles heal - its range. In my house with it set up in my WSM in the garden, lost the signal as soon as I stepped in doors. Not matter what I tried, same thing. When I...

    WSM newbie - temperature control

Thanks for the top tips guys, just smoking another piece as I type. Luckily I have put my WSM in our pergola as it is chucking it down with rain, yet again. It's been the driest winter and spring here in the UK, looks like our summer is making up for that!

    WSM newbie - temperature control

Yep just finding my feet. The first one I did without probe thermometer, it came out nicely done, but a bit dry. Second one I've I used my Maverick. It came not so dry, but bit under done. Stopped cooking when it's temperature hit 71'c (160f). Having another go, later this week. Never eaten so...

    WSM newbie - temperature control

Our brisket was a bit tuff, will go into a chilli. Onward & upward to the next one. Learning curve. ;)

    igrill 3

Think they're gonna do a 'Smoke Gateway', a WiFi link that'll add onto the Smoke to give you an app on your phone. I was going to get the Thermoworks Smoke, but would have to import to the UK, and it was silly money. Got a Maverick 733 instead, just monitoring me brisket now as I type :)

    WSM newbie - temperature control

Thanks for the spray tip Bill, doing small piece of brisket now. Its my second one, using small pieces as a trial run before a family get together. Won't matter if I balls it up, plus only me and the missus!

    igrill 3

Bit late to the party, but I bought an iGrill 2. Whilst the device itself was quite good, and the app you use it with, what lets it down massively, is the poor range of the Bluetooth connection. If you have line of sight, its fine up to 30 feet. If you take your receiver (iPhone etc) inside your...

Press Release: Weber Launches New Charcoal Briquettes For 2017 Grilling Season

That product is available in the UK. I've used it and it seems fine, but I'm new to this smoking malarkey! Used some other stuff, Heat Beads, which seemed pretty similar. The Weber briquettes seem to last longer in a WSM than the suggested 3hrs, but I guess that's down to the nature of long &...
