What I really want to know is what are these 3rd party shippers that then transfer to USPS and how the sellers can sell something for $6 with free shipping and make any money? I can't do that with the standard eBay print a label!

I gave that some thought a few times and just don't think the juice is worth the squeeze. First you would have to basically make it air tight, then put controllable vents in the hood and cookbox. The grates should not be too hard, just a bottom charcoal grate. If you go for it, I would love to...

We think very much alike. I have never taken my MB over 500°. The highest is usually 475 and that is for chicken skins to get crunchy. I have the IR burner, gasser, and the little CG Patio for high heat. I would love to BBQ more but the 2 of us just can't more;-(

Very true. I did spend $100 on new thick stainless firebox liners, but that has been it. I think of it like the kettle; How many "upgrades do a lot of people around here have? Rotisseries rings, smoke and sears, charcoal rings, diffusers, water pans, etc. Also as it applies to inexpensive...

You can also do that with a gravity feed and still have that charcoal and wood flavor;-)

Don't count on it as this started with the last regime's modernization screw up.

    Stainless Steel pots and pans

We received a 5-Star Salad Master cook set from my wife's family 36 years ago. They still look like new and we cook a LOT. They were expensive back, probably over $1K then, but probably so much more now. They are the ones that are marketed as waterless with the jingle tops. Once they start...

Amazon was so forward thinking in creating their own shipping network as the others have really turned to crap IMHO. eBay stuff take about 2 weeks to get here.

    Classic Chicago Italian Beef Sandwich

Looks wonderful. What kind of meat slicer is that? I always feel a little funny about starting up a large smoker for a small amount of meat....Do you ever feel the same or am I weird?

    USA made products

Wow - I went through the list and found this one for $11K. twelve pounds of charcoal can maintain 225° for 65 hours. And still the grill's exterior stays cool to the touch. Available in 304 or 316SS. Just stunning...

    One of those IR Grills

I have seen some used IR grills for about $200 on FBM. There was a Broilmaster not too far, but I was wondering how low they can go because you don't want to always seer something. Could you let us know how they do on "regular" slower indirect / direct cooks? Thanks

    Lowe's clearance - Copper Kettle Premium $95

I was in Lowes today and almost nothing was marked down. Very disappointed.

    One of those IR Grills

I would agree, however having a bottom one built into the grill is a close second.

    One of those IR Grills

In this vid he does pull out the tray and cook a steak. I have the IR on my Napoleon or else I would probably get one for $120

Free is the best. I bet there are a lot of good parts even if you do not flip it. Grates alone are usually really nice.
