New Q1200 enameled two piece grate. Improvement or?

Are the new models (1200/2200) the same size as the older Q120/Q220? Can we purchase the newer grates to fit the old Q220? I would love a griddle.

Weber Jumbo Joe 22" Premium Charcoal Grill

I haven't had a chance to see one in person, but Chris S what makes this feel cheap? Is the thickness of the metal of the kettle? The handles, legs overall construction? Can a beer can chicken be done on this? I'd love to know if I could turn this into a semi portable BIG Jumbo Joe. I love my...

    Weber Genesis 2000

Please post pics of your restore. I'm on the hunt for a Genesis on the cheap to make a cart. I want to store my Q220 under and my Jumbo Joe on top. It will have a lot of prep area. Hopefully I can find one with a side burner in case I need to cook something in a pan/pot.

What to use for the work table brackets?

Your Genesis is looking NICE! Did you use screws through the metal and up into the cedar? I've been on the lookout on craigslist (San Francisco/Sacramento area) for a while to make just a cart. Thanks for posting and giving me ideas on my cart.

    120 to 1200 parts

Do a search in the forum because a few people have painted with high heat paint or powder coated it. I think the powder coat will last longer, but will cost more. When I get the funds I have a place that will powder coat my Q220 lid. I'm thinking Weber Red, but a teal, Subaru WRB blue or BMW...

    WSM cart...kinda

I love this cart!!! I have alerts set on craigslist for a Weber Genesis to salvage and make into this cart. I would sell off any usable parts (lid, knobs, etc) for cheap to ensure Webers will live on forever ! I love the idea of keeping the side burner in case I need to do some cooking on a...

Jumbo Joe Premium mod to 22" WSM

For those that bought the Jumbo Joe Premium, have you thought about converting it to a 22" WSM? From what I've read on this forum, this JJP (Jumbo Joe Premium) has a shallow lower bowl so the grate is closer to the coals than the original 22" kettles. This is great for direct grilling, but may...

Jumbo Joe Is pretty much perfect

I've been using a bricks on their side to corral charcoal to one side for an indirect cook. The bricks on their side fit perfectly on the charcoal grate and under the cooking grate. I'm waiting for a good deal on those Weber baskets to get them.

    22.5 Kettle conversion to WSM?

I contacted the Seller and he said there isn't a problem with looking down into the new Smoker, I didn't ask about stability. I would love to do this for my Jumbo Joe. The JJ has short legs so stability wouldn't be an issue and seeing down into it would be easier than off a regular kettle. John...

Jumbo Joe Is pretty much perfect

I bought my JJ because of all the praise from this site. I use it for weekday small cooks and weekend cooks when I'm not home. The Targets in my area are not carrying much Weber stuff. They are carrying Stok brand grills which Home Depot lost money on. I bet the Stok stuff will be on clearance...

    22.5 Kettle conversion to WSM?

Someone is selling a riser with grate and thermometer to convert a kettle into a tall WSM. Has anyone done this before? Pros and Cons? I think this is awesome: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/nby/for/4971251840.html Here's my attempt of posting a pic of it:

    Vortex for kettles

I had the same question as Brian Moriarty. I made a lump basket using expanded metal. It's not as fancy as Brian's examples, but it does the trick. I like that my lump stays together in the basket and it's a great form for a ring of fire for longer cooks. The Vortex is a sold piece and I...

    Grillgrate Deal of the Day

I didn't know they have 2 websites: http://www.grillgrate.com/ http://www.mygrillgrate.com/ Again, I'm not affiliated in any way with them. I just want to pass on this great deal to the group!

    Grillgrate Deal of the Day

I don't know exactly where to post this. Also, I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules. I am not affiliated with Grillgrates in any way. I saw on their site they have a Deal of the Day! Today (12/4/14) They have GrillGrates for the XL Big Green Egg and all 24" diameter grills. Includes the...

Awesome Nate! Please post pictures on your build. I'm going to use the cart I build to house my Q220 in the bottom, my Jumbo Joe (Squat) on top. Going to buy a cover and it will look like I have a Genesis in my backyard, Ha!

Anyone know the model/year of this Genesis?

Thanks for checking! Can you believe someone was giving one away on Craigslist? I replied 2 hours after the post, but it was already taken :( . Nate, you have a good looking Genesis Platinum B there. I remember Tri-City in Fremont and all their crazy tv commercials in the 80's. I'm on the hunt...
