    First steak ever for preteen

As long as you ask your son to try a piece plain first before going to the sauce. ;)

    First steak ever for preteen

From some of your other posts it looks like you are a 'seasoned' CI user - so I'd use that to cook your son's first steak on. :) My recommendation would be to go New York strip as it still has vg beef flavor and can have good marbling as a rib eye - while having a slightly firmer texture than a...

    Be careful with your mail

Our neighborhood has both individual and cluster locked mailboxes - depending on who the original house contractors were during the buildout. Both have been pilfered by thieves. Couple of times the individual boxes will all be open on a street with junk mail strewn in the street. Same for the...

    Ring door bell camera

We got a Ring doorbell to integrate with our Blink camera/hub setup. It is hardwired to the old doorbell to ring the chime - works just fine.

    Smokey, Dark Salsa?

Another lesser known chile pepper with a smoke forward taste is the chipotle meco. You can buy them dried/whole or in a powder.

Utah > Moab: The Blu Pig

We ate at The Blue Pig when staying overnight to visit Arches Nat'l Park several years ago - right good bbq. (y) Nice to know they are still recommended.

    Shucking Corn

Same here. I like grilled corn, husk off, to get some color and flavor on the cob.

    Too hot to grill?

We had that happen 3 summers ago, right in the middle of a heatwave - house got up to 86F inside. It turned out to be the infamous burnt out capacitor which cost $10 in parts and $100 in labor. I'm tempted to stock up on these like Ralphie's dad stocked up on fuses from A Christmas Story...

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

Another option to just give Hatch green chile a try is get a jar - the real deal, made in New Mexico. I buy these at my Von's, but you can get a jar off of Amazon And if you like the jar, you'll love fresh roasted on your own. (y)

It’s the most wonderful time of the year

Several years ago, our local Vons market took the left over Hatch chiles and made a batch of pork sausages. They were really really good! But, they haven't had them the last couple of seasons. I keep asking though and if they show up again, I'm buying the display case lot! :giggle:
