    The skin was very good. Not very crispy ,but good. Next time i think no peanut oil. Having a bad time trying to post pictures. Photobucket is giving me a hard time. Will try tomorrow..

    Ok ,here is my report. Over the years i have cooked many beer can chickens on my 22 inch weber kettle.. However, this i think was the best chicken i have ever cooked.the wsm did a great job.prepared chicken ,peanut oil, my own rub,montreal chicken rub,mcormick chicken...

    O.k. Gang, will be doing my 1st "beer can chicken"without the beer can.plan is 1 full chimney hot kb spread,a 1/2 unlit on top. 4 pcs apple wood.. Shooting to cook for it 160-165.foiled empty water pan,foiled saucer.. Planning for 300-325 cook temp.. Will post results and hope fully pics..

    Paul, btw, those pics taken before i put casters on.. Also, when i will not be using the lower grommet,i install a thermometer. Fits the 1/2 inch hole perfect. Will try to post updated picture.

    Hi lloyd,yes, as i said, turkey was a little dry..wsm ran a little hot. 350-375. Still getting used to amount of coals..i even injected a little.. Chicken broth and butter..will be trying a chicken next week..maverick did show 160-165 when i took it off. I think i just put it on too soon...

    Kettle on life support

    Oh yes, many years of fine cooks. Have painted over the chip areas ,replaced the upper grate ,replaced the top vent cover.. Still have my weber genesis,and of course our new weber 18 wsm..will be doing 1st chicken next week.. Looking forward to 1st brisket soon after.
