Target Weber Clearance has started (YMMV)

Not as as cheap as last year but $42 for a NIB JJ is still not bad and still cheaper then Walmart's clearance price

Which Chimney for a Jumbo Joe?

Well as an update for anybody who may be interested... I picked up a Weber Mini Chimney and gave the new JJ a try. The new JJ's IMO are worth all the praise they get! If I had I bought this one first, I probably wouldn't own either the SJS or Performer grills that I have now. The JJ is about...

Newbie to the world of charcoal with a few questions

Am I reading that right... you put the cube IN the chimney? I thought you were supposed to but them under the chimney like if you were using newspaper?

Which Chimney for a Jumbo Joe?

I was somewhat thinking that too but Weber seems to recommend the mini for the JJ? As Walt points out, the coals sit closer to the grate on the JJ (which I think is one of it's best features). The person I'm giving this to will mostly do direct HH grilling so I'm thinking the mini is the way to...

Which Chimney for a Jumbo Joe?

Well I don't have one for my self yet but I just picked up a Jumbo Joe to give as a gift (Walmart has them on-sale (clearance?) for $45) and I want to add a Weber Chimney along with it but I'm not sure which one is better suited for the Jumbo Joe? I'm thinking the mini because it could be kept...

My new to me 2013 Performer

Honestly, having seen the table in person, I'm not convinced its any better then the gray nylon table? Personally preference I guess?

My new to me 2013 Performer

I'm assuming you got the parts directly from Weber? I too would like to know that cost of the table and new lid bale? I would really like to make a custom butcher block top for mine using Maple or White Oak (White Oak is almost as "hard" as NA Hard Maple but more weather resistant) but that's...

    FoodSaver Professional

John - Were did you find the specs on motor sizes, etc.? I use to have the GameSaver Deluxe which was a good model but there were somethings I didn't like about it. One thing being, it wasn't a design that lent itself well to leaving out and because we didn't leave it out, I found we didn't use...

Weber Original Charcoal Pizza Oven (Weber Part No 6520)

That was going to be my question, how many pies can you make without having to add more coals and is that with arranging the coals in a horseshoe arrangement around the outside or evenly spread along the bottom? I wonder is this would be a good use for natural lump charcoal as it seems to burn...

    WSM Hanging Ribs - 1st Go-Around

Interesting. Never tried it that way but I'll have to give it a go. Thanks!

    WSM Hanging Ribs - 1st Go-Around

Craig - what is your method for reheating the left overs? I generally like to make extra for left overs too but have had not luck getting left over BBQ to taste as good is it does right out of the smoker

    WSM "out of round"

I think you can almost bank on that? if the original center section was that far out of round but yet the lid and base fit it fine then it stands to reason they would be equally out of round. I would measure them to verify and if so, I think I'd be back on the phone with Weber. I doubt the lid...

2015 Performer Lid Bale on SS Performer w/CB Stacker

Is there some sort of difference between the "2015" lid bale compared to last years?

    Leg of Lamb

Coming from a Greek background, Lamb was a staple in my house growing up but when I started making lamb for my own family and friends, most of them didn't care for it. No matter how I prepared/seasoned it, most felt it was too "gamey". At the time, I was cooking it to medium rare which is what...

    Grilling on the WSM

Looks great but I have a stupid newb question... Whats the reasoning behind grilling on the WSM as opposed to one of your other grills?

    Keeping it simple again.

Ah, thank you for the info. Looks like a really cool grate. Too bad they don't make it anymore.

and here we thought it was called the Minion method

Did you stop to consider that Mr. Raichlen may have discovered or developed his technique long before Mr. Minion ever posted his method on the internet? Besides, from your description, Steve and Jim's method seem very similar in concept but not exactly the same? Either way, call it what ever...

    Keeping it simple again.

I've never seen a grate like that? Looks like some type of hybrid? Also, how is your lid hanging off the side? Thanks
