    Recommend a Good Meat Cleaver?

Turns out mine is a Zwilling JA Henckels 150mm (6") Cleaver...on the smaller side, but nice and heavy, balanced, with a nice grip. My wife also has a light duty Chinese one as mentioned above, that she brought with her from Jinan after we were married. (A trunk full of items that came over in...

    Camp Grilling

It's like driving in fog...don't do it if you dont have too. :) Seriously, the link Timothy posted should serve you well. Good luck. I'm so jealous that you get to gp camping..my family refuses to go anymore...regardless of how good the grub is.

I hope some of our meals will fit in.

It's not so much the texture - as I eat alot of sushi of ALL kinds, sea cucumber, squid, uni, etc.. It's mostly the bland non-flavor, combined with the non-texture. I think if it got smokey I'd be far more inclined. Thanks for all your advice on this.

Anyone interested in a chicken only comp in Ca?

I think I now know WHY your village is having a fun food comp. This just in: "It is interesting to note that this area is known for its chickens. They run wild all over the village. They inhabit the two small parks in the old town area, and can often be seen fighting, begging for scraps, or...

99 pounds of meat -- post 3, the turkey, and miscellany

Cooking for 100 folks is no small feat. Congrats on a great time. I cooked for 15 folks on the same day, and we ate at 3. Unfortunately, one of my buds showed up with a bottle of Glenlivet, hence, no good pictures...none by me, anyway!

I bought a couple of used kettles this weekend with the specific intent of making a pizza cover. I have a round stone. Should I use some low or fireblocks laid on their sides to raise the stone slightly?
