Why almost no colors in the U.S.?

I work at Knoll in Muskegon on a paint line similar to webers (at least I think it is). We make steel office furniture and more. We have several paint lines that have parts that are hung on a moving chain. These travel down an assembly line thru different phases. We change colors like 20 times a...

    Another 18.5" vs. 22" Thread

Just like I said above, if price is no issue go big I say! Most people do not cook 6 packers at once..

Why almost no colors in the U.S.?

Something Weber should consider too is that, how many of us that swear by Weber would buy another kettle, that were on the fence about it, just because it was a color that is only available in limited supply! Lets say Weber makes 10,000 red-heads in 26 inch model! No ash catcher, no bells or...

    Must-do Mods for a Newbie

Run it right out of the box! After you use it for a season or so and read stuff on here you can do the mods that suit you! I live in Michigan and it is cold here in the winter (duh right), so my favorite mod is adding handles to the middle section to make it easy to lift the whole middle section...

    Another 18.5" vs. 22" Thread

I have had my 18 inch WSM for like a 12 years now. I have never ran out of space. I have 2 other kettle grills for back up smoking and or grilling. From what I hear the larger WSM will always use more coal. If you do not mind the extra cost of the unit and the coal go big!

    Store bought ribs

I was in a hurry the other day because I worked 2 and a 1/2 weeks straight other that Thanksgiving Day, so I decided to try Tony Roma's ribs packed and pre-cooked with sauce. They were pretty good. Not as meaty as my own. All I had to do was "grill" them up in 15 minutes! I give then about a B...

    Mythbustin'..... Lookin' vs. Cookin'

I have not noticed it adding much more time. Yes, I am a looker! I like playing with my meat! Bad choice of words. I mean pork, beef, ribs, etc..lol. When you check your food it also increases airflow to burn more coal! So it may burn more coal.

    Another smoking wood thread

I wonder how long it has to "cure" for? I have heard that green wood gives more smoke and some prefer this. I know that you want to have it in a bag with holes in it or it could get moldy.

    Another smoking wood thread

Seeing the post down below made me think a bit. My father in law has 1000 acres of fruit trees. That is where I get most of my wood. I asked him if he would be interested in selling it online and he said no one would want that crap! He said come up to the farm and look around! We have cherry...

Why almost no colors in the U.S.?

I know there have been posts on this before. Doesn't weber know how many more units they will sell? I have seen people from France with grey and green and red kettles. I know sometimes here they have colors but it is rare. I they should come out with a certain color every year or two!

    WSM - 18.5" for $41.00 @ Home Depot

I checked my local HD just to make sure that had none! I bought a performer anyway! It was like 100 bucks off and the wife said merry x-mas!

I need a new charcoal grate for my old 18 inch WSM

That is a good idea Phil! My old one can rest on the tabs and the new one does not have to be the same size! It can be smaller! I have had a hard time finding the right size but this will work!

I need a new charcoal grate for my old 18 inch WSM

I need a new charcoal grate for my old 18 inch WSM

Thanks Jim, I have a 18 inch WSM with nylon handles. Maybe 1991 model? Around 10 years old, maybe 11. I do not have a factory thermometer or heat baffle on bottom.

I need a new charcoal grate for my old 18 inch WSM

What is the best/cheapest way to get this? The old one still works but is is awfully warped and charcoal falls through the ends most of the time. The website says it is 15 1/4 inch diameter. Do stores sell this or do I have to order it?

Better Tailgate Grill: One Touch or Smokey Joe

I recommend the jumbo joe or the 18 inch kettle. I have two size of kettles. 18 and the standard 22. The 18 inch can handle most things but for a big group I would want the 22 inch kettle! Happy cooking! Look for me tailgating at the Lions Packers game on Thanksgiving!

    Enameled Cast Iron - Recommendations?

You can be the ultimate cheapskate like myself and get a dutch oven from a thrift store. I grabbed a "club aluminum" 5 qt dutch oven from my local goodwill store. It is cast aluminum. Club has not made these for years but they never wear out and make the best soups and pot roasts or whatever...
