    UK Charcoal

I don't think it's anything about Weber wanting to sell their own fuel - they don't even sell charcoal in the States. According to the FAQ's on Weber's US website, the reason they don't recommend heat beads is that they burn hot enough to possibly damage the porcelain finish of the bowl.

What do you do with ash?

I usually dump it under the shrubs on the property line with my neighbor. They seem to like it - the shrubs, not the neighbors.

    Weber Q 2200

That's a sweet looking Q! My parents have an old Baby Q with the black lid, and I've always liked the black top over the Toyota Camry Tan that they come in now.

    Weber Charcoal Pizza Oven

From what I've heard, they've been testing these in the US market. I don't know which stores were testing them, but each store that was testing them got about 10 total. If the test goes well, it sounds like momma Weber might be bringing them out as a full-scale release.

Which is more valuable, old SS Performers or the newer ones?

I've read through the whole thread and it's been very helpful. There's a burgundy SS Performer for sale for $50 I'm going to take a look at tomorrow, hopefully it'll be coming home with me. The hardest part is going to be getting it home - it's 50 miles from home and I only have a sedan. I'll be...

Two holes under the center of lid?

Those domes are part of the lid liner. If they are missing, it's because the lid liner has corroded. The liner is not replaceable on its own, you have to replace the lid. The lid has a 25 year warranty, but only for the first *registered* owner.

    red head restoration questions

For the cookbox and lid end caps, you only want to paint the outside of them - that's the way they come from momma Weber. If you painted the inside, the heat on the inside could cook the paint off and have those fumes swirling around your food inside. For the outside, standard high-temp...

Weber Performer in Marietta, GA 50.00

I had to share this with the gang at work. I didn't realize a 'Vette was big enough for a Performer!

new gasser needed... help me out here

If you're looking for a Spirit, Home Depot has the special versions of the E-210 and E-310 with the Gourmet BBQ System grates and griddle at the same price as the regular E-210 and E-310.

Quick question about the 14.5 can it be used as a grill like the mini?

If you can find a Smokey Joe Silver or Gold for cheap on your local Craigslist, the lid would sit right on the charcoal bowl of the smoker. The Smokey Joe lid won't sit right on the smoker center section though.

18 inch WSM bottom cooking grate

I can confirm that the pre-2014 grate is still available, Chris. Part #80624 was quoted to me for $25.90 plus shipping and sales tax.

A few issues with my Genesis Ep-320NG

Jon, those do appear to be separate issues. Issue #1 is a malfunction in one or more of the valves of the manifold. Weber doesn't sell parts to service the valves, so the manifold would have to be replaced. Issue #2 *could* be normal. On that generation Genesis, the burners run left-to-right...

Ash Catcher on 18.5 OTG question

The OTG sucks air in above the ash catcher, so it should perform the same with or without the catcher in place. There's more than enough holes in the ring to allow air in, considering the size of the bottom vent holes. I'd lean towards what Chad is saying, and look at a charcoal issue.

    Quick Connect Issues

AFAIK, Spirit and Genesis grills require a 3/8" NPT male connection at the house. Summits require a 1/2" NPT male connection at the house. The EP-330 in max operation is only pulling about 42,000 BTU's, while a Summit 670 can pull up to 73,000 BTU's.

    Char-Baskets?

If you spring for the Perf. Platinum, the baskets make it much easier to use the gas-assist system. They also help protect the inside finish from the high heat of the charcoal.

    Mastertouch and OTG differences?

The ash catcher for the MasterTouch was held in differently than the one for the OTG. The MT used a crossbar that attached to the center spindle of the cleaning blades, and the ash catcher ring held onto that. The OTG uses the three tabs to lock in to the leg stubs on the bottom of the bowl...

Now all you need is the side handle with the tool hooks from a 2013 22.5" OTG and it'll be perfect.

    Unidentified factory drill hole

All three Smokey Mountain Cookers for model year AO (2014) use the same silicone grommet: 85037. If I remember the parts list correctly, it's under $7.
