    New WSM

Yesterday, at 9am it was still going strong. I pulled the nasty looking tail, and opened it up. It took a few hours to burn out and cool down. I cooked some chicken on it according to these directions: http://www.virtualweberbullet.com/chicken6.html The chicken turned out great, though I...

Darwin is alive (well, figuratively speaking) in Maine

I'm surprised any of the guys I served with (myself included) made it to 25, due to amazing acts of drunken stupidity.

My 4th - not exactly as planned

Bacon is the best side dish. Years ago I did a full round of p90x and then tried to go on a bike ride like I did a few years prior. I got destroyed. I found P90x is very poor at providing a cardiac base, outside of jumping in your house for 45 minutes. Cranking out miles on the stationary bike...

Beef Ribs et al - Ranch Kettle

Nice. After it cools down, you could pull up some chairs and use it as a table.

Converting Genesis Grill to a Drink Bar . . . Anyone done this?

If you want to insulate it look at the marine industry. Almost all smaller boats 50' or less have some sort of custom built-in fridge that utilizes every available inch. To make a one-off cut thin plywood to fit, fiberglass over it and then insulate behind it.

Now that's the way a hanging rack should be built!

    New WSM

This WSM is amazing. I tuned it to 225 at 7pm last night. At 10pm I opened up a bottom vent a little more and went to bed. At 7am I checked on it and it was running at 208. I tweaked it and am going to see how long it can run, before I need to start smoking some chicken later. My previous...

    New WSM

After seeing the prices of new 18s and the fact I have only seen two 22s on craigslist this year, my impatience got the best of me. All the 18s around town are marked down to $199. As a bonus my three-year old daughter "borrowed" a soft washer for 30 minutes, which greatly prolonged putting it...

    Weber S 330 New Style $350

Yes. You can probably get the tanks too, since they went charcoal.

    18" or 22" WSM?

I don't cook leftovers for 10, just enough for a weekend meal. The charcoal consumption is a concern. I saw the post about the Wal-Mart in Hurstbourne. Thanks! That is why I posed the 18 vs 22 question.

    18" or 22" WSM?

Thank you all very much for the input! I'll heed the advice and look for a used 22.

We cook for 10 about twice a month.

For a family of six is the 18" or 22" WSM THE way to go?

Weber OTS for under $50 at Target stores....

The floor model was marked at $50, and the others as normal at my local target. YMMV.

    New Genesis 330 Question

I have the Ravenna by classic accessories. It is better than the big box stores' generic covers and loads heavier than the Weber cover.

    Burn-Off Results: Time/Temp

Sounds about right. I had an E-310 that would reach 575 after 15 minutes, and that is with the extra burner. It would sometimes hit 600 after lengthy warm ups. Regardless, the instructions on the grill time and temp card/guide proved to make consistently good results.
