Is the Weber chimney TOO efficient?

I swear by those Weber lighter cubes, but for the past few months I've been getting by with using my used vegetable oil-soaked paper towels that I rub onto my grill grates right before cooking. You know how you scrub the grates clean with your grill brush, but then you 'clean' the grates one...

Anyone use the "Go Anywhere" Grill?

I have the gas GA and would love to get the charcoal one to add to my collection.

    Kingsford on sale yet?

It's a different kind of briquette--burns slightly cleaner than the original KBB. I use it for my special longer cooks (brisket, pork shoulder, etc.) as it is more expensive. I keep a stockpile of both.

    Butcher Paper Questions

I have used the white roll at the Costco Business Center, and now I use it for everything--including wrapping my sandwiches for work. I keep getting comments like, "Where did you get that sandwich today?" Butcher paper has so many uses other than for wrapping brisket or ribs. Just buy it...

How do you grill gourmet sausages?

Every sausage I've ever grilled has always come out either dry or undercooked. I'm paranoid about eating an undercooked chicken sausage. I've been told to grill it for 15 minutes. At the 15 minute mark, it's always dry. Does anyone have a foolproof method of grilling juicy, yet fully...

22lb turkey w/ 18x15 roasting pan fits in 22" grill using bricks

Thanks to the help on this forum, I made my first smoked turkey in my 22" Weber grill! My Circulon 18x15 roasting pan ($25 now at Costco) didn't fit inside, so I made some modifications: remove the grill grate and put 2 foil wrapped bricks on the bottom grate to keep the roasting pan at a...

Using bricks in the 22" OTG for my 5 hour turkey cook...

Thanks for the tips! I went ahead with foiling the bricks--it worked! I'll make a new post soon with pics.

    First Full Packer Brisket

You did nothing wrong. That looks delish. If the flat seems tough, just cut thinner slices (<1/4") against the grain.

Kettle smoked Turkey, anyone have done it?

Jim, can you give some insight on what types of bricks you used? I was asking that very question today on: http://tvwbb.com/showthread.php?56059-Using-bricks-in-the-22-quot-OTG-for-my-5-hour-turkey-cook Thanks!

Using bricks in the 22" OTG for my 5 hour turkey cook...

The Circulon 18x15 turkey roasting pan ($30 now at Costco) fits on the grill grates inside the 22" OTG, but then the lid won't close. I'm going to have to improvise with some bricks on the bottom charcoal grate, and have the roasting pan lie on top of them. I have never cooked with bricks...

Thanks for the tips, everyone! I'm heading out to Costco this Saturday for a trial run before all my cousins arrive next week.

Need advice on grilling whole Turkey for Thanksgiving 2014

Hi everyone, I would like to use my Weber Smokey Mini, or my 22.5" Weber kettle to cook a turkey for Thanksgiving. I've never cooked turkey before (although I have made good use of my grills for other occasions). Can I get some advice or links to some fool-proof methods for grilling/smoking a...

What to do with all my unused charcoal dust?

Thanks for the advice, guys! Perhaps I'll use some stone-age tools and assemble some charcoal briquettes by hand. It might take me several days to make a bucketful of reclaimed charcoal, but hey, when you can squeeze some pennies out of a dusty bag of charcoal, why not???

What to do with all my unused charcoal dust?

Yes, I've been there, with my dust mask and goggles, sifting through piles of ashes just to find some small charcoal nuggets, as if they were gold. And right behind me is a stockpile of 200lbs+ of KBB from those Home Depot/Lowes sales. The things I do for love. Or bbq.

What to do with all my unused charcoal dust?

Ah, the 90 degree trick! I'll have to make that big decision of whether to spend $11 on an additional charcoal grate, or $30-40 on another Craigslist grill. Just another reason to say that you can never have too many Webers!

What to do with all my unused charcoal dust?

I have bags of unused fine hardwood/charcoal dust. My remaining Frontier bags from a Lowes sale each have several pounds of it. I hate to see so much go to the trash. Is there any way to salvage these smaller pieces that would otherwise fall through the bottom grates? Does anyone have any...

    Chunk Charcoal sale at Lowe's

You must have been lucky with the bag you got. I'm trying to use up the rest of my bulk purchases from this past year, and the Frontier lump charcoal hasn't served me well. Too many fine pieces. My last bag was mostly dust; no large branches in there.

Q's with the small disposable cylinders - How long do they burn?

Just buy a $20 Charbroil propane adapter hose and hook it up to a regular 20lb propane tank. Since the Qs are so efficient, you would only need to swap out the tanks maybe once every 8-12 months, depending on how often they use it. But man, once they get hooked, they'll be using that thing...
