    TVWGG Hot Dog Taste-Off

Zweigle's Hot Dogs - Red (Beef) or White (pork). Great snap to the skin and you know when they're cooked because they pop open.

    Contemplating Consolidation of Grills

After reading all the posts, I'm inclined to think the same way. The performer just works too well as my go pizza cooker (pizzakettle owner for 8 years). Don't really gain any deck space (don't lose any either) and gain a new toy. What's not to like?

    Contemplating Consolidation of Grills

Fantastic replies from everyone - thank you. I will 100% be keeping my Weber 5000 gasser (it'll go to the grave with me most likely). The fact that either the Summit Charcoal or Smokefire can fit the bill gives me some great options as far as consolidating (ie - selling the performer and...

    Contemplating Consolidation of Grills

Hmmm - interesting. A bit more coin, but solves the problem AND doesn't require electric. Just fire and food.

    Contemplating Consolidation of Grills

Hi all, I've been doing a ton of reading here about the great results (albeit w/ some quirks) that the SmokeFires are delivering for everyone. I currently have a WSM 22", Weber Performer and Weber 5000 LP grill. The issue is that it takes up a ton of real estate on my deck. Here's what I'm...

    How far will you go?

Drove from Greenville,SC to Richmond, VA to pick up the Genesis 5 (5000) that Joe refurbed this past summer. Long haul, but worth every minute of the trip. And Joe was great as well!

Afterburner Aftermarket Infrared Burner for Genesis II, so far it's HOT!

Likewise Joe, these would be really cool on the Genesis 5 I picked up from you last summer. Know if these would fit? Gary

    Got some toys!

Getting ready to order some for a new grill I'm getting next Saturday (fingers crossed). I'll let Joe give the details. Unfortunately, Dave was off today when I called to insure that I'm ordering all the right stuff. Love, love, love his grates/flavorizers on my E310 from 2008.

I will just leave this here

If I was into the rehab game (or knew someone that was), I would gladly pick it up and pay for the rehab. Just don't have the time/space to do it. They're about an hour from my house. Takers?

What is your Favorite Vintage Genesis Grill lid color

Still waiting for a blue one to show up in the Upstate SC area. As a UK fan, I'll pay a premium to add it to my arsenal of a 2007 Genesis E310, WSM 22 and Performer..... If only I could be so lucky.

I will just leave this here

Just outside of Greenville - Simpsonville. I think I know about that dude in Augusta as he just had a beautiful redhead that he restored and sold for $300. I haven't even seen a Platinum anywhere around in the 6 months I've been searching.

I will just leave this here

Man..... those just don't appear in South Carolina. None do. If I was closer, I'd pay you Bruce to bring this back to life and pick it up. Guess I'll just continue to be patient. One will pop up sooner or later. Being a Kentucky Wildcat alum, the blue is just the right color

I will just leave this here

"Small dent in bottom...." Uhhhh - OK. If that was in a car, it would be a $1000+ repair. If I knew how to do body work, I'd offer to take it for $50 so it could be fixed up. Otherwise, you can't even hide that in a corner. To the seller's credit, at least it was disclosed.

What do you do with the leftover lit coals in your smoker?

I take them out of the smoker and use them to light the fire pit so we can have s'mores! Kids love it and means that no coals are wasted.

    First Grill?

Given that he hasn't used a grill before and you're playing with fire, a fire extinguisher might be a good add..... Just sayin'

Supposedly Brand new never used Weber Grill Genesis 1000 $1,000

And dropped to $800 already. Too far to drive for me, but would be a nice piece to display if you have the $ to burn.

    Why hand wash knives ?

Mine are hand-wash only. That way, I know they're clean and (equally important), DRY. Carbon Steel patinas almost instantly if not cared for properly. That, and the fact that if I'm going to spend the time to get them sharp with stones and elbow grease, then I'm going to protect that work as...

Thoughts on this grill for $200?

So - just to wrap this whole ordeal up - Shout out to LMichaels for pointing out the ineptitude of the lid thermometers. When I did pork chops last night, my lid thermo was ~350 after 10 minutes (48F and no wind) while the grate temperature was just over 500. Guess I'll rely on my better Smoke...

Thoughts on this grill for $200?

I don't care who you are - that would just be cool to have in the shop! You'd need a dedicated person to keep all that polished though - and my wife just said "Hell No!" There goes that idea....
