https://photos.app.goo.gl/8cE0Sts3DtdQQu943 Finally got to rehabbing this '04 18" OTS. Pounded out some dents, minor rust removal & paint, new handles, new grates, new ash catcher kit, new one touch ash cleaner. (The work table's been sitting around the yard for years) I've wanted an 18...

So what did you do??? Did you adopt the 18?

FWIW... I just ordered replacement One Touch parts for an 18". 20 bucks shipped. Why get crazy cleaning / fixing old stuff?

Had a great experience on my first cook on the 22 WSM

I love to see people doing the whole meal in a single cooker. I try to get my protein, veggie, and side in to my 14.

Thanks guys, I went ahead and got on line with it. Even though the sticker shock has worn off a bit, I can't help but feel the ghosts of my Jewish Grandmothers glaring down at me. ...just sayin'.

I wanna buy a brisket flat but the prices seem crazy. $7.19/lb, so that makes a range of about $45 to $55. I usually buy packers at restaurant Depot in the mid 60's, but I haven't bought since last October. Did something happen to brisket prices? Brett.

    What's your favorite WSM accessories?

Rib racks. I could give up my hinges, my temp controls, my tables, and any other toy. Giving up my rib racks would fundamentally change my ability to put out a large volume of food. More often than not, when I Light up the 22, I pack it full.

    Considering switching to Master Touch

Don't give up your 18. If you do a larger family cook, you can do steaks direct on the 18, and chicken (or ribs) indirect on th 22. It will still come in handy. ...even after you get your 26 and your first wsm. B.

    never seen one?

Yes, but it's the best type of insane. She'll realize that when her tummy is full with deliciousness produced on that grill!

    Hello everyone

Fwiw, I have 3 "little OT grills" of various models. I challenge anyone to produce better food on any other grill. Don, you've bought the best tool for the task. Even if you bought the least expensive model, the difference is convenience. Not quality of cook. Enjoy.

First few practice runs on KCBS BBQ

So I hemmed & hawed for several years trying to get my food "ready". I thought my food was "ready enough". I was wrong. *BUT* the only way to get your food "ready" is to have it judged and read comment cards. OMFG! What an eye opener. Stuff I thought I did well got hammered, stuff I wasn't so...

You're gonna do great. My goal was to not come in last. I achieved that goal *and* got an education that I couldn't have gotten any other way. I'm totally excited for you. You'll love it. B.

    All in one

That's awesome! I did my first comp a few weeks ago and the education was huge. I've read a bunch of 'all in one' info but wasn't brave enough to try. I ended up bringing my 18 and my 22 wsm with a 22 kettle for chicken. Mission accomplished though, I didn't come in last.
