I understand it is a match holder, for when your igniters do not work.

    Hanger Steak

Absolutely love Hanger Steak- but have to special order it here, and usually have to explain where it is cut from the beast. Hot fast cook on the gasser-then a rest and slice across the grain before service- some Paris Butter, nothing better. My butcher sells it to me for the same cost as...

Genesis 1000 and other deep box grills

I suspect the two layers is better than the single layer. There are some good articles on how hard the designers of the first Genesis had to work to convince Mr Stephens that an gasser could cook nearly as well as a Kettle. Then, probably, the bean counters had there say, 'fewer bars, etc...

Converting on Genesis Silver from NG to Propane

Strongly agree with LMichaels here.Having the wrong valves, even if you change the jets, can lead to flame out on the lower settings, but the gas still flows. Not good. Easy enough to find a 'parts' machine to get a different manifold- that can help if you ever move to a different property- you...

Smoke Day in AUS- and that's a long way from Texas

Smoke day 2017 happily lined up with my Father-in-laws 90th birthday, so we had a party for 70 people. 2.00pm kickoff, and the menu plan was my first ever proper brisket (just like Rich & Barb Dahl!),to be done in the 18.5 WSM, 8 racks of baby backs to be done 4 racks each in two Mini-WSMs...

    Summit 670 Rusting

Why with the Summits are they all not SS as were the previous models. (Well nearly all parts) They cost a bomb new. I am currently restoring a near current model 650. It is nowhere near the previous Platinum model in quality of gear. I wonder what the new Summits will be

    Hello From Ipswich Queensland Australia

Hi Paul, you have the Weber Compact Kettle- the main difference is that the bottom bowl is shallower than "The Classic" so your heat source is closer to the grill. The Lid is the same size. Keep your top vent fully open. I think if you are trying to do a low and slow that is your problem. I.E...
