    TOTALLY CONFUSED (or just stupid!)

    TOTALLY CONFUSED (or just stupid!)

They both work well and it just comes down to whether you want to be able to control the temperature controller through the PC (and potentially remotely over the internet) or not. They are both are reliable and while you may not get an e-mail confirmation on your Stoker order (although I...

Larry, Create a free gmail account and use that for emailing. I've never had a problem using my gmail account for notifications.

    DigiQ II Start-up...HELP!!

Glad to hear it worked out for you. I think the controller has a better chance of stablizing sooner when you just start the fire, add the meat and close it up. You always add air to the fire whenever you open the lid. Have fun!

    DigiQ II Start-up...HELP!!

I have a different automatic temperature control system but they all more or less work the same. I used to get the coals lit, hook up the temperature controller, bring the smoker up to temperature and then add the food but I must be getting lazy. Now I add the charcoal, light a few coals in a...

    Stoker - High Temperature Sensor

I ordered the high-temperature probe, but was informed that it is currently not available. I sent "Rock" an e-mail asking when they would be available but never got a response back. Not sure if he isn't selling them or just out of stock...

    StokerLog Version 5 Preview

OK, I just ordered 3 more meat probes and 1 more temperature probe to help test out the updated program (I just needed an excuse and this is a great one!) Got email working (thank you!), can you explain what the graph frequency, under mail settings, does and what enable email logging on the...

    Stoker Log 4.2

Seeing as calibration is a "set it and forget it" item I would vote for keeping out of the logging application.

2nd Stoker Cook Issues - Any Ideas

I don't have the weber, but I recall that the door can be very leaky. I believe people have posted how to tighten up the various seals/joints on the weber. What version of the Stoker firmware are you running? I believe most of us here are running the alpha version (Version 2.1.287) that can...

2nd Stoker Cook Issues - Any Ideas

Larry there are a lot of variables at work here. Let's see if I can help with some of them... 1. Stoker set at 225, fire at 230s without any blower action - This is what the Stoker should be doing. The higher temperature is the result of your weber vents not adjusted correctly or you having...

    Stoker Log 4.2

Amir, do you have a second blower to test with? If not, I can send you mine while you figure this out. Send me an email at elav@sbcglobal.net if you need it (it is the least I can do with all you have provided us).

    Stoker Case

Larry, The probe extension cable is just that, a cord that goes inbetween the end of one of the temperature or blower connectors and the stoker connectors. People use this to extend the length of cord they have so they can keep the stoker inside the house in bad weather (Rock's website has one...

    Stoker Log 4.2

Oh, seeing as you need a PC running to run your app, I just assumed individuals would add their outgoing mail server info to your app for sending.

    Stoker Case

When I setup the Stoker to be used with my smoker and Amir's logging application, I need to bring out the Stoker, my wireless ethernet adapter, a power strip, an extension cord, the blower and various temperature probes. When I do overnight smokes I'm always paranoid about dew settling on the...

    Stoker Log 4.2

Amir, it is a LOT easier than that... With AT&T and the iPhone, it truly is an email address. Here is what will work with the other main carriers in the US... MDN = 10 digit phone number AT&T: MDN@mmode.com Boost Mobile: MDN@myboostmobile.com Nextel: MDN@messaging.nextel.com T-Mobile...

    Stoker Log 4.2

I always assumed it was 2 blowers going to 2 different smokers and they were all running at the same time. OK, off the "multiple blower support" topic, but for additional feature enhancement requests - I think it would be really cool if an "alarm" could launch a URL (today's functionality) or...

    Stoker Log 4.2

When you do tackle multiple blowers, is it possible to add "tabs" or different page view for each blower? Users can assign available temperature probes to each "blower page". Visually it would keep things as simple as today's program is, but may not meet people's needs (not sure). Thoughts?

    Stoker Log 4.2

Perhaps if the temperature is lower than set for the numbers will be blue, at the set number the numbers will be black and above the temperature the numbers will be red in color. That way you can do a quick "color code" check. Personally I vote for current and target temps being displayed.
