Bruce, I don't see why not....it sits away from the grill a bit after its attached. My 1000 handle is wooden and stays cool. I don't think heat would be an issue for this lamp. Had my reservations when I ordered but it seems like just what I was looking for

On your recommendation Greg I got that light for my 1000. Seems well made and plenty bright. I’ll have to get used to the switch (you have to hold it two seconds to light, then tap to the desired brightness) but gobs of light for sure. Think this is the one I was looking for

Bruce not for Christmas, but I do one every thanksgiving on the 1000 because the oven inside is usually full of turkey. just make sure you put it in a pan as it will generate copious amounts of juice/fat, but it works well. I use cherry for the hams, apple for poultry

All the grills I have gotten came out of the DC area. About a 160 round trip for me but the selection is good. Traffic not so much. Grew up there and it was not like it is now...insane :-) bumper to bumper anytime of day or night anymore, but $20-$30 for a decent grill to restore makes it worth...
