    Between storms.....

Thanks Jim.... I will likely be in Wisconsin in mid January. Go figure. My dear sister lives in Fish Creek and is having some medical problems and I need to have some time with her. At least I'll get to stop at Bobby Nelson's in Kenosha. :) That's a Monterey Pine that's resting comfortably...

    Between storms.....

My posting history has been pretty lame of late. Busy with life and work, but I still have been reading posts and seeing great cooks by all of you guys! Pizza oven has been in use, but no pics. Tony would say if you don't have pics, it didn't happen! Anyway, we had a weekend without rain...

    Deep Dish Pizza

Pizza looks great John! Do you follow a recipe for the crust? I've tried ATK's and that seems very good to me, but I'm always looking to improve on things.

    Non-ApPEELing Lid Issue

Yep; just carbon build up as others have mentioned. What that tells me is that you're an avid griller! Just scrape it off occasionally or consider it "seasoning".

    Long Barn CA

Been to this site a few times. Anza Borrego is one of my favorite places to visit anytime - even in the heat of summer! Not too far from here are some fantastic native american pictographs....

    just saying hello.

Thanks for letting us know George. Good to see you on the forum again and wishing you good health. I've been a bit slow on posting as well - work and stuff gets in the way, but I'm still cooking at least a couple nights a week outdoors.

    money to burn?

I can trace that font back to 1972 looking at catalogs Chris has posted for us. http://tvwbb.com/docs/1972webercatalog.pdf In 1968 the Weber font was not rounded; much different. http://tvwbb.com/docs/1968webercatalog.pdf Check out those stylin' shirts from that era! That said, no way can I...

    Turkey on the rotiserrie

Sounds great! Good luck Tony; I'm sure it'll be fantastic. One change I've made with doing rotisserie is to only have charcoal or lump banked on one side of the grill. Lower overall temps and I seem to get a more moist result especially on the breast meat. Still great skin color and crispiness.

    Share your Turkey Plan

Jamie Purviance's apple brined turkey with big time gravy Someone posted this last year and I tried it.... the very best turkey I've ever made! There is brining and makes for some excellent gravy. Of course cooking it on the Weber is just fantastic. We're having two couples over for dinner...

How many of you have a charcoal grill? what makes you decide what to use?

Genesis EP-330 and several charcoal kettles. I prefer cooking with charcoal and get a better result. I also grew up cooking on the Weber kettle. My Dad liked to enjoy a glass or three of scotch while cooking burgers and I quickly took over. Cooked two chickens last night on the Performer...

    Internet Radio

I bought a Sonos 5 a few years ago and have bought a couple more units. One pair I have in our living room in a stereo configuration. Another unit is in another room and I move it to the backyard when we are entertaining. The sound is excellent and I have Pandora and Spotify premium accounts...

Foodsaver at Costco on sale October 30

I received a flyer yesterday saying these are going on sale starting Thursday. I picked one up a year ago and it's been great at sealing all sorts of things. $30 off from $149.99 to $119.99.

I need a new coffee maker

Hey Jim.... I've got one and I'm not their biggest fan. A couple people insisted I buy a Bunn for my office which I did and it makes coffee at least as well and about $100.

Can't make up my mind ... Help Me!

I bought the EP-330 natural gas last year and it's fantastic! I use the side burner only occasionally, but I'm glad it's there.
