Breaking in my new Q 2200.

Maybe I've just been lucky lately, but I find the Q does a much better chicken wing.

Breaking in my new Q 2200.

While cleaning the garage I put mine to pasture for a spell. Still have a Genesis and a Kettle in play, and have a recently purchased Craigslist find 3200 waiting to appear in the driveway. Don't tell my wife.

    Converting Weber Q to charcoal

Smokey Joe and a grate? Freakin' brilliant. I just did a few tenderloins and asparagus on a 22". Clearly, I wasn't thinking like this guy.

    Q3XX(X?) find on Craigslist

I like the casters, I'll be on the lookout for those. Thanks. Do you have a link for the magnetic lighting you have set up there? Looks impressive. I saw a new Q1200 yesterday in a local store, I'm surprised how much more robust the Q2xxx and Q3xxx models are.

    Q3XX(X?) find on Craigslist

Saw it listed yesterday, picked it up today. Nice overall condition, it'll clean up well. Seller stated it's about 10 years from purchase. Grates have some rust. From reading the posts it sounds like all of the 3xxx series are enameled CI? Are there aftermarket straight CI, no enamel available...

    Mini propane WSM

Confusion is good....it makes us think. Anyway. Many years ago, let's think 30+ years? I made a smoker out of a trash can. Found the plans in a Jeff someone cookbook. He got disgraced by a former lover. But I digress..... Galvanized trash can, small, maybe 30 gallon? Drill a hole in the side...

What model Q is a decent for a college age kid ?

I picked up a freebie Q200 last summer, picked up some split grates and a griddle (half size) from Qulimetal, both items came with the clips. Products themselves were inexpensive. Look for them on Amazon... I've been using the Q extensively since summer, larger gasser getting limited use...

    New WSM 18 owner

The WSM is not just a smoker. Marinate some Roadside Chicken and grill over the open coals on the grill. Lots of basting, lots of smoke, lots of flavor smells coming off the grill.

    Hot water pot

15 years ago I was in Scotland for a couple of weeks travelling around with my daughter. Kept running into these hot pots at the hostels, and at private homes. The 240v electrical supply in the UK makes fast work of boiling water. As soon as we got back in the US I searched out one for home...

    Look at this freebie....

I'll see your 5 (edit - 7) and raise you 10. Well, I do that when I can pull the 10 out of my hiding places when my wife won't see them.

    Look at this freebie....

    Mmmmmmmm.....rack of lamb.

Anyone actually wear out a rotisserie motor?

It was in a plastic container (tote?) with all the other parts on the picnic table in the backyard. I wasn't expecting torrential rains in the next few days, but there it was. Seriously, it's still working. I myself wouldn't have expected.

Anyone actually wear out a rotisserie motor?

I've never worn one out, but I have let one sit submerged in a pool of water for an extended period of time. It was a Weber unit, and it was in the water for at least a week. Still working fine some two years later now.....

    Cleaning a Cast Iron Skillet

You need to look up an old cult movie, "Eating Raoul". And watch it. My wife, many many years ago (40?), sick with a bad cold, I was being nice and brought her home a few VHS tapes to watch. One she'd like, one she should watch for it's quality, and one that would just be fun. The fun one was...

    Durawood .... in the Dishwasher?

Yeah, good advice. We want them to be able to reproduce as best as possible.

I will just leave this here

Lynn, Lynn. The city of sin. You never come out the way you went in. Sorry, had to do it. And I wish I was closer...just over an hour from me, but I can't see adding another grill right now. But, if I was closer......

    Lodge Frying Pan

Just a quick post to say that Darto International is offering free worldwide shipping until the end of the month. The pans seem pricey, but as an owner of multiple sizes (and thicknesses) of these carbon steel pans I tend to use them more than my extensive collection of cast iron, vintage and...

I will just leave this here

Are you saying we should oil the grillgrates before using? Or is a 12 step seasoning method needed?
