Need Help Want To Cook Baby Backs Semi High Heat With No Wrap On My Pellet Grill.

Shawn, please send me that recipe as my Slow cooker and Instant pot are becoming more and more involved with our menu planning. With Barb coming up for her second surgery they will be even more involved. Was very pleased with the results of the ribs we just did, but it still involves a lot of...

Need Help Want To Cook Baby Backs Semi High Heat With No Wrap On My Pellet Grill.

Thanks all for the info on how you do your ribs, so many different ways to do them. My mobility is degrading and looking for ways to cut back the up and down in my cooks. The process I used will be tweaked a little but otherwise I'm quite happy with the results. My main reason for this was I've...

Need Help Want To Cook Baby Backs Semi High Heat With No Wrap On My Pellet Grill.

Will post tomorrow, 275 4hrs, ACV and water spritz at 2 and 3 hours. Bumped up at 4hrs to 300 and added BBQ sauce. Pulled 40 minutes later, wrapped in tin foil and let rest for 20 minuets. Both Barb and I thought the ribs were great very tender considering they were in the freezer for a year and...

Need Help Want To Cook Baby Backs Semi High Heat With No Wrap On My Pellet Grill.

Want to try a simpler way to cook some baby backs without the mess of the wrap and the all day cook. I just saw something on here about that but of course I can't find it now. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Nice to hear some positive things about the SmokeFire. It's been a rough ride for it.

Lots of Chicken & a couple of Meatloaves

Decisions decisions making which I like better would be a choice I could never make. I'm lucky enough to be half a**ed decent at BBQ. Baked things come from Barb or the bakery. Really outstanding cooks on both sides Kemper!

Barrel of Jack at Costco: Any takers?

I really like JD as a daily driver. My problem with that barrel's worth of JD is that my doctor has already told me that when they cremate me my liver will burn for three days.

Jumbo Joe and Single Weber charcoal Basket?

Like I said the JJ is our go to grill along with the E320 NG for quick cooks and our summer oven. You will be surprised on how much you can get on that JJ, with that said I also have a 22 performer for bigger cooks such as hot & fast ribs and large amounts of chicken or burgers, steaks etc. Then...

Redtop Lid Comes Out of Hibernation

Every grill I've kept except one if it had a side burner I replaced it with a shelf. Our E320 NG work horse has a side burner and when I got it 14 years ago, I fired the side burner up to see if it worked ...it did, and it's never been fired up since. Just never had a use for it. I picked up...

Taste like my childhood, simple bbq chicken

What Barb said, we had the same dinner even talked about BBQ sauce but didn't pull the trigger.

    This Ones a Head Scratcher

The probe was placed right next to the grills probe. There was very little fluctuating, and it was reading almost 100 degrees hotter than the grills temp. The temp swing was about the same as the grills reading. Probe was in the grill for the whole cook. Going to try Dans suggestion, then drag...

    This Ones a Head Scratcher

Not a bad idea Dan, our oven also has convection as an option. Run it on the regular oven cycle that change it to the convection and see if it goes nuts then with the fan running. I'll try it tomorrow. Thanks.

    This Ones a Head Scratcher

Did the boiling water test and it came up at 202 - 203 on all three probes, which is correct for our 5100 ft. altitude. So that's not it. I agree on the accuracy of TW, but if the temps had really been 400+ the chickens would have after two hours been crispy critters and they were not, the...

CA Retired PT getting into Outdoor cooking and Renovations (House, Yard and Patio items)

Welcome to the forum, it's a fun place. Lived for over 40 years in Orange County from 1963-2003. Also a big fan of the Woodshed, now my son who still lives close to it gets my order every time...

    This Ones a Head Scratcher

As some of you know I've had my issues with Thermoworks on a few of their products. I will say their customer service has always been one step above. Which I appreciate, so before I drop this one on them, I thought I would run it by the forum to see what our experts think. I just replaced the...

    The Searwood has arrived!

Got to agree with you Larry. Been down the wrapping thing with tin foil and pink butcher paper had more on me and the CC than the brisket. Now that I have a new controller in the CC that gives me much more temp control and espically smoke control I'm going to try another brisket just to find out...

How often do you use your ______ appliance?

Air fryer...Gone never really liked the way food came out of it. Three different slow cookers, a lot in the winter, zippo in the summer unless used just to keep food warm. Instant Pot, my new best friend, used a lot a real time saver. Binford 2000 food mixer (Kitchen Aid stand mixer) Now that...
