    Wet HeaterMeter :(

Holy cow, I'm surprised it was alive after the first time it got wet. You must have built yours really well. Good luck in getting it working again.

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Wow, the RotoDamper makes a big difference!!! I have a cook going on now. The servo is often making changes to ensure the temp stays consistent. I have much more control over the pit now!

    INTRODUCING: the "Roto Damper"

Got my servo in the mail yesterday and have finally assembled my rotodamper. Great design, can't wait to cook on it. I've used just the blower twice and had a little trouble keeping the temp low on the first cook. Thanks Ralph for being generous enough to share the files with me and for...

    Successful cook

No the heatermeter is controlling it also. I don't have my servo in yet, so the damper just has the half moon shape opening The top is closed all the way and as you can see my Primo will hold 225 with zero fan activity. I finished up the cook this morning and that larger but never went over...

    Successful cook

Loving my heatermeter. Been cooking for about 12 hours now and enjoyed a full day away from the house.

Also, don't go cheap on the temp probes. They'll be all over the place. I went cheap and wish I had gotten thermoworks probes.

Blower will not turn off, always running from boot

    I'm getting some bad measurements. R14= 1.96k R4= 17.26k R13= 16.25k R19= 57.6k The numbers are jumping around a bit but I think I am keeping the probes still.

Blower will not turn off, always running from boot

Tagging this thread since I'm having a similar issue. My fan is running 100% as soon as I power up the HeaterMeter. Tried pulse mode, but there's no difference in how fast the fan spins. I have the 4.2 board with the included fan.

"Compatible" Maverick Probe - No go

OP, have you had any chance to use these probes yet? I find that I have one that reads accurately and the other one is about 100 degrees off. I have played with the resistance setting and the probe type to get it close. After that I add in an offset. It seems more reliable at higher temps.

    Wifi connection help

My Edimax just arrived yesterday. I got it set up with no problem. Crazy how something that small works so well.

Anyone have nice examples of pit probe placement above meat in kamado?

Bryan, Do you have a picture of this setup?

    What should I do?

This is what I'd recommend also. The seller did right by you, now do right by them.

"Compatible" Maverick Probe - No go

Whew...so glad that these work with the 4.2 HM. I just ordered 2 of them before reading this post.

    New User with silly questions

Ok, thanks guys. I connected the HM to my network via Ethernet cable and change the pit probe back to Thermocouple. I'm pretty sure that my wifi settings that I entered into config file are gone, but I'll set them back up when my adapter arrives. Looking forward to my first cook!!!

    New User with silly questions

Ok, so the Reset Config setting did more than just change the settings that were visible on the HM display? What's the best course of action to correct this? Wait until I have the wifi adapter? I'm guessing my settings (wifi password, etc.) that I put in the config file are changed also?

    New User with silly questions

Hey guys, I just got my heatermeter 4.2 all fired up, thanks to Bryan! Not only did he come up with a great project, but he actually helped me build it in his home! Great guy! So I've put power to the HM, but haven't gotten my wifi adapter yet, nor do I have my thermocouple. I did set the...

    Factory thermometer problem. . .

I know this is an old thread, but what do you guys recommend as a replacement for the dome thermometer in the 22" WSM? Mine is stuck showing about 250 or 300 when at room temp. Anyway to actually adjust or calibrate it?
