    Anything Butt Comp.

Hey Bob, is this a four meat event or a chicken and rib type cookoff? If it's your first contest and you're doing all four categories, I would suggest not doing the "anything butt" contest. Especially for 200 ppl!!! It's easy to get wound up and want to do it all, but honestly AB and People's...

Questions about the 3 tub wash stations at comps

Here's one way we did it: Make sure you have four bus tubs (Wash, Rinse, Sanitize, and Hand Wash) and a way to heat water. A turkey fryer with a 30 Qt stock pot works great! Keeps your tubs stacked and out of the way while you trim and prep. Once prep is done, clear prep table and set up your...

    People's Choice for Charity

First off, I'm not a big fan of people's choice simply because it's more work on my small team and usually it's more of a popularity contest that an actual judging of your product. With that said ... I did a contest last year where they required each contestant to cook one or two butts to be...

    Favorite BBQ sauce

I must've posted to the wrong thread. I thought the topic was, "What's your favorite sauce?" Not a, "Let's slam the sauces we don't like!" thread.

    WSMs Serious Competition Cookers??

Hey Troy, you better not be getting a Jambo!!! You aren't, are you? Everyone else is! I wouldn't put it past you guys. That really wouldn't be fair though, because you know Debb won't let me have one. I agree with you Rick H. A good cook will be able to cook anything, on anything you put...

    Wireless thermometers and comps

Chris is 99% correct, but even the Maverick/Redi-Chek folks say it's possible to cross signals. At least on the old ET-73's, not so sure about the new 732's. I've been using multiple Mavericks for around 6 years now and have only had it happen once, but it can happen.

    Portable power

Yeah ... what Stefan and Russ said I have the EU6500is, which is overkill but I got it cheap. Which is also why I can help run multiple cooksites if my neighbors need power too. In most cases the EU300is has more than enough power to suit your needs.

    WSMs Serious Competition Cookers??

One of our very own members here at TVWB would tell Mr Ferrari that he'd be happy to put his Volkswagons up against anything they had to offer ... and most likely beat their butt! Check out Vincent's website. When it comes to WSMs in competition, he is the Master! Rhythm n Que
