Here’s one for Chris. First pic is code inside Summit 600 Series lid from 2010 original. Second pic is code inside new lid for same grill. maybe this is already explained elsewhere in the forums, but what do these codes mean?

Weber support may replace the cook box. They did for my summit 620 which had just a small amount of rust. The Summits are fantastic grills. Yes the cookbox and manifold can give you issues, but give Weber a call and see if they can help you out. Good luck!

I picked up a 2007 s-620 last summer. The cook box was rusted like yours. I called Weber, sent them a couple of pictures of the rust, and they sent me a brand new cook box. You Just never know!
