This is the Genesis 330 that I did a couple years ago. It had a brand-new black replacement hood with the inside liner. I have seen other porcelain hood 300 series grills that did not have a heat shield/liner, and I had one stainless one that did not as well.

I definitely agree. I think in George's day :george: Weber was able to command a higher price because their products stood out as clearly better built and better cookers. First the kettle compared to tinny "brazier" competitors and then with the original Genesis that was light years ahead of...

Looks like Nexgrill is also entering the larger, modest price grill segment: https://www.cookoutnews.com/nexgrill-gourmet-pro-gas-grill-has-burners-to-spare-and-it-smokes/

I agree with what you are saying except that if Recteq used high grade stainless, I don't think that would have happened. I have a Summit grill that I got from @LMichaels which has a lot of 304 stainless for the shelves and huge condiment trays. This grill sat outside both at Larry's and my...

But if you had a porcelain coffee cup with the same air gap and inner liner, wouldn't it do about the same as the stainless one with a identical liner and air gap?

My first score of the new season

Looks like a great restoration in progress! On that drip pan, I think that was probably the time period that the porcelain ones were being phased out. They were a lot nicer. Now all you can get is thin aluminum or non-OEM plain steel painted black. Oh, there was a company offering a stainless...

On the Bullseye it is just a thin stainless (apparently 430) top and bottom. I would rather have the porcelain. They would probably not differ much on heat retention, but I think the porcelain would be more rust resistant than what Tom experienced with his stainless Bullseye Deluxe. On a...

What do you know...Tom Horsman just came out with a new video about his Recteq Deluxe having rust after three years:

I am not an expert, but I think the original Traegers were US made and very good, although the technology is dated by today's standards. Then I understand that Traeger, like so many companies, farmed production to overseas. Quality dropped, and Traeger was no longer the name they once had as the...

The Bullseye Deluxe like Bob has is definitely the top high heat performance pellet grill. They are perfect at taking the place of a gas grill (or even a kettle) for quick, basic cooks. They can also do low and slow bbq, but that isn't their primary focus. For a while last year, Recteq offered...

Looks to me like the damaged hinge part is the firebox, so if you don't want a sidewinder, just the hood and doors, I would say it is an amazing deal. Don't see anything like that around me. Blue isn't my absolute favorite, but it IS very uncommon. Some prospective buyers like it very much.

Wish it was by me. Sad to see a piece of Weber history going down the tubes.

They are except I believe that some of the older doors had the magnet in the doors rather than on the cabinet bottom

You cannot buy the one that has the CharQ logo on it any longer. Bruce gave me one from an electric Q. I just painted it black to cover the electric logo. The wood handle I have been trying to patiently wait on will have "CharQ" on it. That way it will still have its name! I am pretty sure you...

I think you are right that not everyone would fall on the same side of this question. I personally never really liked the stamped stainless ones, but others here definitely do. I can see that. I would rather have stamped stainless (or even good porcelain coated stamped steel) over really cheap...

I know these new Genesis grills don't have the rugged build and longevity of the classic "real" Webers, but I would have had a hard time not paying $200 for that one if it were near me. I would just like to try one out for a while, and then cleaned up - even here in corn country - it would be an...

I AM A CharQ FAN! The CharQ is a great charcoal grill as long as you know its limits. It's meant for typical hot and fast grilling like burgers and steaks. It doesn't need a ton of charcoal, and the cast iron grate makes for fun grilling and nice sear marks. I missed having mine this past...

I agree. I think the average person does notice if they are shiny, and some do appreciate stainless. Very few would ever ask about them being magnetic. The guy I sold my Skyline to chose to keep the cast iron grates I had in the pictures rather than a NIB set of Weber stainless GBS grates I...

I don't like the spacing on the GBS version, but is it really non-magnetic stainless like their regular (tighter) grates? I think the Weber version is magnetic, probably 430 SS.

    Spirit E-310 2024 versus 2025

Todd, another good thing about the Q3200 Larry has is that the cart is almost entirely glass-infused plastic, so virtually no problem with rust. I love the new Q2800, but I do not like the painted steel carts Weber is offering to go with it. OK, you can call me an enabler :p, but I promise I am...
