Just tell them the ash catcher fell off due to the rust out. Sometimes they won't question it. That is usually why I call directly. If you are nice to them they usually help out without any extra questions. I would try calling and not mention the email.

The new lid is actually a newer lid. 2 years old for mine judging by the date code on the vent. It looks identical to the one that was on there before just a different date code. It is not the one with the temp gauge built into the lid but it is built into the handle. Hope this helps...

They do not make the older style ash catchers anymore. You would need to get the style from your 2010 performer and modify the legs to fit it on the older style bowl. Since your is an 03' your legs may have the slots in it for it to fit. Not sure though.

For some reason mine took about 2.5-3 hours to get to 165 on the smoker at 250 degrees. In the beginning the temps were flying up but then plateaud in the 150's. I would set aside at least 6 hours for this. Don't rush it and it turns out awesome!

The one on the right looks like a 26". I am not sure though but it looks like the one on the left is a 22.5". I would go check it out especially for the $19 price tag. Even if it is a 22.5" that is still a decent price. Good luck
