I use a deck box to store all my smoke woods and charcoal. Then I have my smoker in a "House" and the left hand of it is dedicated to a work top and underneath I have storage for all my goodies.

Man I need a firend like that. That is awesome.

I would run it the way it comes right out of the box. There are no "required" mods, as Weber has supplied a fantastic product.

My saucer is extremely greasey. I never gave it much thought. I think I am going to have to clean it up. Thanks for the idea

That is ideal. I don't like the idea of exposing the Stoker either. My plan was to create a web service to pull the telnet and then expose the data only through web service, and then using a device specific application (Droid, iPhone, or Windows Phone)to view and modify settings.

Dan, I believe in order to get to the Stoker even internal to your Network you would still have to use the Port on the URL (eg http://<StokerIP>:8080) Just like accessing from external locations

Looks good Glen, I did mine a few years ago and haven't regretted it once. Actually since my original mod, I have added 2 additional vents to the top and 4 one the bottom. It's way over kill and have never had the need to use them much. But heck they are there if I need them.

I have never had a problem with my Stoker holding my temps. Don't have to do anything special. I just completed a 20 Pork Butt cook @ 240° from a single load of Kingsford. Perfectly smooth temp control.

Supertweet is working fine for me. One thing I know for a fact is that when I was trying to set it up, unless my Stoker is set to DHCP the Twitter feature does not work.
