    My Next Grill....Advice Please

, an I thought about it, but decided the lid was too shallow for one. And until recently, I never paid much attention to thermometers while I was cooking anyway.

    My Next Grill....Advice Please

I'm using my Jumbo on the Texas coast during our winter vacation, and I've enjoyed wonderful results while cooking for as many a seven people. I squeezed seven rib-eyes on it for one cook, and 10 freshly caught speckled trout fillets on it for another cook. I love my Jumbo.

    Sweet potato help....

When I plan on doing steaks, chops, etc. on the Performer, I sometimes fire up the mini-WSM early and drop in a couple of smallish sweet taters. They take approximately 45 minutes in the mini that's perking along between 250 and 275 degrees. We treat them like a baked potato, but only use...

    GW Cast Iron

Wow! My oven cleaner sprayed on a CI skillet and left in a garbage bag for a couple of days seems pretty primitive. Great work, good looking. Thanks for sharing.

Just picked up a Smokey Joe now need a pot

Double-check how the SJ lid fits on the tamale pot. As an FYI, the 32-qt Vasconias sold here aren't big enough for the SJ grate.

    Store baught ham!!

On ready-to-eat butt hams, I've had good luck by applying a rub and smoking over pecan chunks at 250 without a glaze. Your tastes may vary.

    Large Chimney vs mini chimney

I'll answer my own question and say no to carrying the mini chimney inside the new Jumbo Joe with the cooking grate in place: And the mini chimney will fit inside a quarter section of Craycort 22.5 grates. But using a Performer's propane assist won't work welll: And I forgot to add that the...

    Cast Iron Skillet

Cornbread is a great way to christen a new CI skillet. The cornbread mix seasons the skillet as it cooks a wonderful treat.

Does anyone know if the mini can be laid on its side and carried inside Weber's new Jumbo Joe? Thanks.

    PartyQ adapter and WSM shutdown?

For those of you with a PartyQ and the screw-mount adapter that fits in one vent on the WSM: When your cook is finished, how do you shut down your WSM? Do you unscrew the adapter and remove it? That looks like a pain. Or do you plug it, which seems easier. If so, what do you use? Thanks and...

Mini WSM use instead of WSM

Enjoy your build. I use mine for lots of light duty chores. If we want baked potatoes, I fire up the mini instead of the oven, I cold-smoke cheese and other goodies in it. I do small batches of ABT's in it – it went 250 miles to the in-laws on Thanksgivings for an ABT cook – and I've done...
