    New 18 1/2" SMC arrived today

    Chris here's a little tip I think would be helpful. Take a bottle of liquid soap and put a drop or 2 inside the gasket split. Rub it around with your finger. Gasket slips right in.

    I saw all those grates at Home Depot today. Looks like they have a lot of Weber parts.They also have an aftermarket brand much cheaper. They look good too

    Thanks John. I glued the gasket on the door but too darn cold outside to try and clean the lid joint. I'll have to wait it out and see if it's any better. It is cooking good just using too much fuel.

    Thanks Jim. Those are great photos. I don't build from plans pictures are good enough. Mine will be on one of my decks so it will be about 4' deep and 10' long. I don't thing movable shutters will do much to help in the winter. I was thing more like a wall about 36" h with a serving shelf then...

    Actually Len I'm looking at building my own cabinets (another of my expensive hobbies) similar to this out of cedar. Also a rolling cart on casters that would roll out when in use and roll back into place as part of the cabinetry. Like this

    Thanks Bob. She actually cost more per mo. than a security system. LOL She has a sensitive tummy so the vet has her on a lifetime diet of chicken breast,rice and Science Diet food = $25 per week. She is worth every penny.
