    20% off at BBQ Guru

A sale ad appeared online that advertises a 20% off entire purchase at BBQ Guru. The site is down, so I couldn't seem to confirm it, but I wanted to post it before I forget. The ad looks legit and I assume the main site is just having a server error...

Rock's Bar-b-que has stopped selling Stoker Systems

I sent two emails to them asking about repairing my probes and received no response. I then called and was told to send them in. I sent them in three weeks ago. I called to see what the next step was and had to leave a message. I have not received a call back yet. I'll try again on Monday.

Rock's Bar-b-que has stopped selling Stoker Systems

I burned my probe wires when the door fell off my WSM and the flames started. I guess I'll get them replaced sooner rather than later.

I came home with a new Genesis II S-310

Online pricing is different than in store pricing. The clearance specials (50% off various Weber grills) seem to be more or less nationwide at Lowes stores. Just pop in and see what they have.

I came home with a new Genesis II S-310

I didn't search here, but just on the internet. I already invested about $400 into the restoration and didn't want to put more money into it. I almost bought a four burner version just to get the correct orifice size, but it was a hike there and back and I wasn't really willing to do that.

I came home with a new Genesis II S-310

I went into Lowes for my Kingsford stock-up and saw they had a clearance thing going on. They had a few Weber Genesis II on sale. I ended up with an S-310 for $399.9 - 5% Lowes card discount and a free iGrill Mini. The Genesis II E-310 was $349. I figured the stainless cooking grates were worth...

    StokerLog Connectivity Problems

I don't run StokerLog, but my Stoker drops my WiFi connection often. The router is twenty feet away from my smoker, so I know it isn't a distance issue. I just use the Pit Pal app (meh) to keep track of temps at a glance.

    26" Kettle already rusting apart

Last weekend, I noticed a bit of a lean to my 2014 26.75" kettle. Of course, I didn't really notice it until it had a load of charcoal in it. The welds where the leg mounts are welded to the grill were rusted apart. One of the wheeled legs was down to one weld that was holding while the mount...

What Will You Smoke For Smoke Day This Year?

I have smoked six briskets for three separate occasions over the past three weeks. I am going with pork butt. I'll be making some jalapeno poppers too.

    Kingsford 2x18.6 $9.88 @ Home Depot 5/24-5/28

I was feeling quite sad when I couldn't find charcoal on sale on either website this week. I am down to one bag. I can now call off my revolution (if I can get all the flyers back).

    Thermoworks Smoke Remote Thermometer

I've been eyeing that for my recently acquired 22" WSM. It's over $200 to try to add that smoker to my current Stoker setup for my 18" WSM. I have a Maverick ET-736 that works well enough and already is app-enabled (clearance find for $10). I just trust the Thermoworks brand more.

    Added to the Weber family

I have owned my 18.5" WSM since 2006. For the one cook off per year that I do and for our annual crawfish boil and BBQ, I have had to borrow a neighbor's 22" WSM. That got old, so I found a used 22" WSM on the intertubes for $180. It was a bit more than I wanted to pay, but it's the best price i...

    Q200 wont fire up

I have a Weber Q220 and I had to replace the regulator when the grill would't light. It would sometimes light, but the temp was very, very low.

Is this a Summit? (what year range?)

At that total cost/investment, I would pass. I just restored/rebuilt a Summit Gold D6. I like the grill, but it was a lot of work and money (I have abut $450 net into the grill) for a 13 year old gas grill. But, mine is a six burner model with a smoker box, side burner and rotisserie burner, so...

    Weber Spirit Grill

A used Spirit is not worth $165 in parts.

    I thought I scored a deal on a Weber Gold Summit D6

Good to see another cyclist here. Day one wasn't too bad. There was a wicked cross wind that was fun to deal with. It was a bit warm and humid too. Day two was rough. It started out cold (50 degrees) and wet with overnight thunderstorms leaving mud and water at the starting point. The sun came...

What's your favorite Jamie Purviance / Weber cookbook? & why?

My copy of "Charcoal Grilling" is falling apart from being used so much. I love that cookbook.

    I thought I scored a deal on a Weber Gold Summit D6

Now that the MS150 is over, I finally got some time to finish this thing. Painting took up much of the time, including a repaint when I found some overspray issues on a side panel when I went to reassemble things. I started yesterday afternoon and finished this morning, with the help of my...

    Need some info before selling

As with anything, taking the time to give it a good cleaning and even polishing/waxing will be worth it. It will sell quicker and for a few bucks more too.

Time needed to salt or season meat

Thanks! That sounds tasty to try.
