When I eat a burger and fries at a place that has the pump dispenser and little paper cups, I take a large to go lid, place a napkin under it, to keep ketchup from leaking out, and load the lid up with ketchup.
One thing to think about concerning private label and/or secondary brands. Just because a "known" company is making the private label item doesn't mean it's the same product as the known company's flagship product. There may be a formula change to meet the price point the big box is looking to...
Pretty sure the WM house brand is RO, they are the only one big enough to supply WM nationally....KBB doesn't produce any private or secondary products.
Shouldn't see any performance difference between the two sizes. Several charcoal companies, with smaller than 18 pound bags, state equivalent to an 18 pound bag in performance.
It's kind of interesting that WM was at, or below, HD/Lowe's pricing when the big boxes went to the holiday sale theme in a big way. After a couple seasons WM backed out of the holiday competition. I wonder if WM is honoring the HD/Lowe's pricing?
They are selling below cost....it's a price leader. They sell below cost as charcoal puts more dollars in a cart than anything except a turkey at Thanksgiving. They make money off charcoal, but it is the sale of other items customers put in the cart.
Have you seen any difference with Backyard and RO? I would guess they are not the same formula, I'd think RO would want to protect their position.
Thanks
