Smoke Day 12 - The Turkey

I have a couple of turkeys taking up room in the freezer so I figured I might as well smoke one today. The plan is to remove the meat and freeze most of it for other dishes in the future. The grills are in position for all the cooking that went down today. The bid is on and the snake is...

I never thought I'd own a gas grill

I picked up a fresh propane tank on the way home last night and hooked it up. The burners fired up on the first try and had perfect flames. I did a 20 high heat burn this morning and maxed out the thermometer. Getting ready to take the whole grill apart this weekend for a deep cleaning.

I never thought I'd own a gas grill

I only had a few minutes this morning to do another examination of this gasser. First off, I need some way to mount the propane tank to the grill. The original scale is missing and I really do not want to pay close to $30 for a replacement. Anyone have any ideas? Second, the flavorizer...

I never thought I'd own a gas grill

Dave, I have yet to remove anything from the grill so I have not actually examined the bars yet. Time will tell. I already have a set of rcplanebuyer's bars on my watch list. I probably will not get a chance to work on this grill until the weekend.

I never thought I'd own a gas grill

Thank you Dave. I was going to ask where the serial number was hidden on these. It is a DA (2001) I did register it with Weber this morning. So far the only thing I see needing replacement is the Flavorizer Bars. The grates are filthy but solid

I never thought I'd own a gas grill

I never thought I'd own a gas grill until today. My wife had taken the garbage up to the dumpsters and came back asking me if I wanted a Weber gas grill that was sitting up there. I figured I could use it for some of the parts if nothing else. I was shocked when I seen it sitting there. It...

    Keeping it simple again.

Chris, the grate is an actual Weber product that was released in the late 90's and discontinued by 2002. The lid is hanging on the back handle of my H One Touch.

    Keeping it simple again.

Just keeping it simple after putting on 1,000 miles this weekend eating other peoples food. Boneless pork chops and crash hots on the grill. On my plate with my wife's veggie mac salad.

    Sriracha Chicken Fingers

I finally found the extra time to do some experimental cooking. Sriracha Chicken Fingers starts with a boneless skinless breast sliced into strips. Next they are given a predust. This just so happens to be some extra lemon flavored fish breading. Onto the batter. Some of the...

As stuffed as I am right now, I could really go for a good chili cheese dog. See what you did, John!

    Kfc, abt, z&b

I just buy a packet of fried chicken breading at the store. I dredge the chicken in the dry mix (predust) then in the batter mix. Then once more in the dry mix. I had it to an oiled grate on a hot 350 deg grill. Then using great care I mist it with cooking spray. BE CAREFUL this can cause...

My wife has been requesting Kettle Fried Chicken for a while now. I did up some boneless skinless breasts, zucchini and some ABT's. Alon with some left over beans. Here is your plate.

Rolf, it was covered under warranty. Since then I use my baskets to keep the coals from direct contact with the bowl.

This. Too high of heat caused the enamel to separate and come off. I am not the only one this has happened to.

I had to go all the way back to 2011 to find this one. It is probably the reason Weber had to send me a new bowl the next year.
