its $10 for the igniter,$20 for the tube and igniter. i almost went that route. the tube was really nasty and the nut on the bottom of the igniter was rusted.
it can add up quickly. mine was over $100 for parts but the end product is worth it
catch your temps on the way up its very easy to keep a wsm at the temp you want for several hours. gas is a convenience but i doubt the results would be as good as with charcoal. as others have said as long as you're happy its all good.

a greater truth has never been spoken.
i did the sjp mod. i cant imagine a otg breathing better than my sjp. while simply cutting the legs off a otg would be easier its not hard at all to put a one touch on a sjp. the locking handle on the sjp is a big plus too.
congrats on the performer. i bet you'll soon be neglecting your gasser.
i use 2 grates on everything but the 26. the charcoal grate is $45 and wouldnt stack well anyway with its extra brace.
if using a lump/k mix you can also use k on the bottom of the chimney then lump on top . that also...
dennis i dont know if you saw these 2 posts about tables. im really thinking of making one for my 26 since weber hasnt offered even the most basic of accessories yet
george l's table
robert black's table
just did a us-euro conversion. in germany the copper kettle is 269 euro and thats $379 us
2½ times what a 22 otg goes for here.
also a black 22 in england goes for 147 euro and thats $207. in germany a 26 kettle is 390 euro = $554
i wish we had access to copper here but i dont feel as abused...
gary i have asked that and was told it was up to the company that sells them to get the colors they want, like crate & barrel and their lime green. so weber puts it all people like amazon and ace hardware ect. if that were the case why wouldnt they list the other colors available on the weber...
cut in half and brush a little olive oil on them so they wont stick and cook until you get some grill marks. how long depends on how hot your fire is. never tried them with booze, but they are really fantastic grilled. right up there with pineapple
i think the parts were about $30 for the 3 pieces you'd need.
the one i rebuilt was a 1991. guess it'd make sense to have all the charcoal bowls interchangeable. they must have done that at some point
looking at the schematics the part #'s for the ash catcher rings are different for the 18 and 22
you'll need to take a dremel and cut a notch where each leg attaches to the charcoal bowl to attach the ring for the ash catcher. its easy to do i had to go that route on my performer rebuild. you'll need the ash catcher ring, handle and bowl.
parts 11 12 & 13
the locking handle fits an 18"...
i worked out in nm in the early 80's and the gal i got my chimayo red from said to keep it in the freezer. so i keep a small amount out for mixing in rubs and the rest in the freezer.
