    I have been eating pretty healthy last couple of months and decided to take a weekend off. Don't know what I was thinking but picked up a bag of mesquite to use for smoke. I all ways use pecan. The ribs where perfectly cooked but had a horrible taste. Could not eat them. Lesson learned.

    Both my probes bit the dust yesterday. Had one running under dome to brisket and it messed up. Later the one going to the top messed up. I have had them a very long time. Is the Maverick ET-7 Remote-Check Wireless Thermometer still the one to go with? Amazon has for $45.

    Grease fire inside gas grill...

    I just cleaned mine a week ago. I waited to long a few times and get the dreaded fire. Nothing much you can do but let it burn out. I have same one as you and it is over 10 years old and going strong.

    Low sugar Jerky

    I will play around some more. If it turns out bad at least it makes good dog treats. The recipe I tried used a lot of franks hot sauce and it just did not work with the jerky.
