    non-Weber grills

I had a Char-griller for about 6 months and sold it off. You might see if you can find one of the $299 closeout Bubba Kegs at HD. It's just a great all around tool to have.. has your CI grate and it's adjustable. I wouldn't spend the $500 or so the newer versions are going for but for that...

A Charles roast on the 22

Just the Montreal and onions. My girl's tastes are pretty plain-jane so when cooking for them I usually go real basic. The meat stood on it's own. I had it at 240-260, 2 or so hours nekkie then 5 or so hours in the pan with the onions and juice I didn't add any liquid it made a boat load of...

A Charles roast on the 22

Ok, so it was a bit lonely on there but I wanted to try a chuck on the smoker for the first time. Seasoned with a bit of Montreal: 2 or so hours in, into the pan: Covered and smothered: With friends: Will definitely do this again I've always put the chuck...

    Weber Family Portraits

After 2 or so years of bumping around CL and having various kettles in and out of the stable I have finally settled into 2 go-to's. Both were bought new with proceeds from my various CL restores and finds. I can't say enough about my new 22WSM, often times I needed more space than my old 18...

Need advice on cover for earlier Performers

The few that I have owned have all had the mesh not sure if any were solid.

Need advice on cover for earlier Performers

No I only have the one cover. It's the older one made for the stainless models. It was really tight getting on without pulling on the end and when it was finally on it left the mesh directly over the middle of the lid so that water would pour down all sides and into the stainless section on...

Need advice on cover for earlier Performers

Instead of cutting the grill rails I cut slits in the cover itself letting the rails slide through on the older cover that tightened up over time. This allowed the mesh section to fit "correctly" over the left side of the kettle instead of over the handle.

    Good price for cl Performer?

If I was in the market I would take a look and if it was in great shape I'd buy it $125 especially if it includes a cover. You might find something similar for less but I sure have seen them for more...

    Good price for cl Performer?

I've paid as little as $25 and as much as $125. I really haven't bought one that I didn't think I was getting a really good deal on based more on condition than color. If you have not used one and are used to working with straight out kettles you'll love it. Looks like there is one for the...

    Crown Roast of Pork

I have a hard time finding them except around the holidays. Costco here gets them in mid-December I think they are IBP cryovaced. Never have "crowned" them just cook it rib up in a roast holder.

    Speaking of Coca-Cola editions

I saw where Robert C found a Coke gasser on CL, odd timing on this: Had some spare Performer parts (lid holder, therm housing) I was going to make myself a poor man's Master Touch. Went looking for a new kettle on CL and saw a new Bar-B-Kettle. Even better, I wanted the old style vents. I...

Lid handle on new one touch platinums?

I think the reach over the heat of the kettle would be worse if the lid was further back. I still don't like that feel of that lid maybe it's because I've seen them at box stores and the handles aren't tight but they just seem flimsy?

    Mother's Day Q

No smoke, Momma likes the grill. Filet's from Tom Leonards, asparagus and twice baked. Works just a well for me.
