    Stokerlog 7.0 Release

Hi Jerry. Thanks for the kind words. The only thing that (should) hang stokerlog is networking problems. When that happens, please run the browser and see if you can talk to stoker. If you are using WiFi, try (for testing indoors) with a wired connection and see if it occurs there. If not...

    Great. Thanks for reporting that.

    Fuel consumption

One thing about an ATC is that it may prolong the time the fire is lit since it has active air flow (i.e. blower). If the fire starts to die, it will keep increasing the airflow to keep it from doing that. Without it the fire my die.

    Stokerlog 7.0 Release

Thanks Gary. Good to know that it does work on Win 8.

    Stokerlog 7.0 Release

This may sound strange coming from an ex-Microsoft guy but I have no Win 8 machines to test it on! Does it do it on more than one machine?

    Stokerlog 7.0 Release

Thanks Gary. What I need is a sequence of steps that makes the program crash repeatedly. I don't need the crash report if you have that. I can repeat the same and figure out what happened.

    Stokerlog 7.0 Release

Thanks. Unfortunately I can't tell what caused the failure. Are you able to repeat it?

    Stokerlog 7.0 Release

Yes, it would be useful to see the text of the exception.

    Stokerlog 7.0 Release

I don't think there is a way to do that Gary.

    Stokerlog 7.0 Release

Hi Gary. Stoker can only set low and high limits for the fire/control probe. For food alarms, there is only a high limit which is what you see in stokerlog under "target." In your sample display, alarms will trigger if you hit 225. I guess since alarms are managed inside stokerlog now, I...

    Stoker WiFi network issues

There has been reports of wifi being unreliable. To my knowledge no one has tracked down the cause/fix. Yes, once the box gets messed up, it is very possible for stokerlog to not be able to reconnect to it. Starting/stopping forces a new sequence and often works better. I suggest hooking...

    Stokerlog 7.0 Release

That is a pretty fundamental error where the program can't even start. I would re-install but likely it is a Windows problem.

    Bacon curing and smoking

Thanks Ron. I thought they were in open containers like I have seen at other places. Will definitely give it a try. The Pike Place market is such an amazing resource. I wish I lived or worked close to it as you are. I would be shopping there everyday :). The used to have free parking and...

    Bacon curing and smoking

Thanks for the referral there. How fresh are the spices at Market Spice? I often worry that stuff sits in jars in such stores and is not as fresh as sealed glass containers.

    Another Stoker vs. CyberQ Thread!

There have been some reports of that. I tried to duplicate the problem and could never get it to fail. In general, WiFi home networks are never very reliable. Until I changed my home network to enterprise level WiFi, our laptops would fail just the same. So if at all possible, you want to...

Stoker - Blue Probe Light Stays On During Self Check at Startup

I don't know about the new probes but the old stoker has a bug where on start-up will do as you say: the blower will stay constantly on and the device is hung. Simply power cycle it and make sure it will shut the fan off after the initial test.

    Need Stoker/StokerLog help please

That is a failure to connect to telnet port. I am out of options to suggest. How about uninstall and re-install?

    Need Stoker/StokerLog help please

Hmmm. What happens if you run stokerlog without checking HTTP?
