Hunsaker Smokers Vortex Firebasket + 22" WSM Hot 'n Fast!

I've been using the Vortex Firebasket in some of the Drum Smokers I've built and am a big fan of them. This basket comes without the legs and ash pan and will work well with lump as well on the WSM charcoal grate. Drum basket

    Water Pan

you could take the center section to a restaurant supply or, if you have a Cash and Carry (Smart and Final in SoCal) and find a stainless steel mixing bowl that will fit. I had some 1/8" steel discs laser cut that I use in my 18" & 22" Cajun Bandit kettles for deflectors.

    WSM Hanging Ribs - 1st Go-Around

In addition to the WSM Meat Hanging rack, I made a hanging grate from an old 22" cook grate by cutting out some rods. It works pretty good.

    Vortex for kettles

OK, so being the putzer that I am. I decided to make my own Hillbilly vortex out of a stainless steel conical steam table insert that I picked up from the Business Costco for under $10. WSM with 4 1/4" holes in the bottom

I've seen where folks have drilled a drain hole in the bottom of the bowl. I would just use some nuts and bolts to seal them

**Side tables for the Mini Ranch**

From the first time I saw the 26.75" OTG Mini Ranch modification I had been kicking ideas around for side tables. Stu G and Steve P paved the road and I made one for myself. I responded to a craigslist post for a BNIB set of Stainless Steel side tables for the Primo Large & XL Oval. I took a...
