    Saturday night wings

Wings were overcooked but I blame early sunsets and the lack of light. :D The asparagus wrapped in pancetta was a great appetizer and the twice cooked baked spuds with cheddar and spring onions (scalliions) were the highlight.

    Pork Loin on the rotiserrie

Too hectic last week with a dinner party to keep taking photos/videos but felt the need to share this. Started with this from my butchery class. Cut, rolled and tied by my own fair (clearly amateur) hand. Turned it into this No plated photo's but it went down well and the leftovers for...

    New, (UK), Weber Briquettes. (2016)

Working my way through 10 bags of AHBs If I can keep getting them for £1.25 per kg (or close to) then I will definitely use them all the time. Part used beads are almost as dense at the unburnt ones. they don't crumble like a part used Weber Briq.

Very neat Tony. I have a 22.5 That is going to be a lot of briqs. Any idea how many in a 4kg bag?

    New, (UK), Weber Briquettes. (2016)

Difference in size and shape between Weber briqs (top) and Heat Beads (bottom) Head Beads are much more dense but weigh a bit less than the larger Weber briqs. Heat Beads had hardly any smoke when lighting and that was only the firelighters I think. They don't create as much ash and burn...

    New, (UK), Weber Briquettes. (2016)

Good work Enrico. I quite like the new Weber Briqs. Easy to light and just about last long enough for the long overnight cooks. Just bought 40kg of Aussie Heat Beads though and not used them on the WSM before. I have used AHBs for grilling in the past. Found them harder to light but good heat...

    Cube Lighter

This is my weapon of choice. I think they came in packs of 4 at Costco and only cost £2 or £3 each. Adjustable, refillable, turbo charged flame. It's even got an LED light And most importantly.... ......it has a bottle opener!

Looking for perfect charcoal mix for 18" WSM

You have to ask yourself what non-combustible materials are in the briquettes that leave so much ash. The Weber Briqs here in the UK leave a lot of ash too. I think they are very, very similar to KBB. I understand they contain mineral char and anthracite (which I would call coal). Plus I...
