Weber Q - fuel shutting off with small tanks, differences in regulators?

Probably interchangeable if you swap the orifice.

The realtor intentionally listed the house way below market value to generate a lot of interest to create a bidding war. It sold above asking, but I wouldn't say it sold for a million more than assessed value. Also not mentioned in the article is that the house sits on a large 11650sqft lot...

Refurbished My 2004 Genesis Gold C

They look like like planks of wood but are made of porcelain with a durable printed surface. Only 1 cut is required per tile. A snap type of tile cutter should be enough to cut it. Around here, they can be had for as low as around $1-$1.50/sqft. Note that in the last couple years, I've seen...

Refurbished My 2004 Genesis Gold C

The trex decking looks interesting. Maybe also worth trying is porcelain plank tiles with printed wood look. Around here, that stuff is available for cheaper than trex and is also not combustible.

When Did Weber Switch To Porcelain Enamelled Grates?

So if they all had porcelain enamel, was there two different types of porcelain enamels used by weber on the Q series? The current grates have a thick shiny enamel coating. I believe on the older Q's without the split grates, the grates have a rougher texture?

When Did Weber Switch To Porcelain Enamelled Grates?

A brand new in box Q100 popped up near me. I'm thinking the price is worth if it has the non-enamelled cast iron grates. Does anyone know when weber switched to porcelain enamelled grates?

Add a silicone rubber washer between the contact surface and the wood will be fine. The washers are cheap.

Which grate lifter for Weber 9mm stainless steel grates?

Not sure which one is best but I use a Napoleon one because it was on clearance for $4 at home depot. It fits tight rods regardless of thickness. I guess it was intended for napoleon wave grids. It also works on hot grates. Only down side is that it's made of painted steel parts, so it's not...

Anyone try a orbital polisher with 0000 steel wool for under hood cleaning?

If you want to try abrasives, look into 3M bristle brushes. They're commonly used for a variety of tasks in the automotive industry. There's different grits available and they're meant for removing material quick without damaging the surfaces underneath.

So which current kitchenaid mixer models would you say are the best? Do you prefer the older style ac models (eg. PRO600) or the newer ones with the DC ecm motors? I find the AC models annoyingly loud, but parts are easiest to obtain, and are also easy to fix. The DC models appear to be...

That's interesting. It's possible covid disrupted some component availability, so kitchenaid haven't been able to ship out enough mixers lately. There's also higher demand for mixers because people panic bought too much flour at the beginning of the pandemic. Now they need to find ways to use...

    Advice on GENESIS E-330 (2013)

Just my opinion, but I would leave it as is and just use it. It's not collector grade so I don't see any point in making it look brand new. If you keep it dry and clean, it'll last years. Save the money and spend it on a decent set of grates.

Calling Larry......Calling Larry........regulator class is in session

I just checked the propane regulators on all 3 of my gas grills. Every one of them had a brand and model number that allowed me to determine the pressure rating of the regulator. Note one of them was a Precimax brand one that had the model number on the back side of the casting.

Calling Larry......Calling Larry........regulator class is in session

The The high pitch hiss or "singing" sound is the propane passing through the orifice. Sounds like the Zhen Dhar regulator was a higher pressure regulator pushing more propane through the orifices. Anyway, I believe there has to be a making on the regulator that allows you to determine the...

Calling Larry......Calling Larry........regulator class is in session

On the Zhen Dhar brand regulator, are there any markings on the opposite side? I see it has a cCSAus safety certification on it. It doesn't look like a knock off. It might just be the wrong regulator for the bbq grill application. Any idea who installed it?

I dont think the casting is any thinner than what weber typically uses. Of the mainstream brands, I don't think any of them use thick aluminum. I think if the owner used charcoal, they would have put it on the flame tamers, and the resultant burn through would have occurred higher up. If I...
