    Fridge getting old.......REALLY old

Only LG appliance we ever had was a stove. Got a great deal when I worked at Sears. It was okay but nothing spectacular. We did have one shocker though, the knobs started to wobble so we called Sears service, and a tech came out. Told use that the plastic that holds the knob on the shaft...

    SmokeFire Restore

I've had various hobbies that I participated in forums involving those hobbies. But after being ridiculed by the elites of the forum for asking such stupid questions and the constant bickering of the forum members. I eventually found other ways get my questions answered. It was so bad if you can...

    So which day is hotter?

96 here in the mountains of Arizona. Humid and no breeze. Went out about noon to set up the Jumbo Joe for a steak cook for dinner later. Grabed the cover and burned my hand and as I stood there the sun was so hot it was burning the back of my neck. Guess I'll get the old cast iron skillet out...

Smoking when the heat index exceeds 115 degrees

Lived in Northern AZ for the last 22 years in Prescott and Prescott Valley, not too far from Kevin in Chino Valley. We are at around 5300 ft and every year it's gotten warmer, and the monsoons have diminished considerably. Yesterday we hit 100 which is really hot for this time of the year, and...

Announcing the Ultimate Classic Weber Mega CLEARANCE SALE!!!

Amazing Jon, if I wasn't so far away, I would jump on those original gen 2 wood slates. That would go so well with my original restoration using all vintage parts. Wish you well in your sale, wish I could be there.

Smoking when the heat index exceeds 115 degrees

Heck Bob, you and I are the same age. Now I start smoking when it's above 90 and I look like a saddle bag with grey hair. Although I think you were talking about grilling and smoking on a smoker huh.

    This Old (New?) Grill

Tom, I certainly can see that your skill sets are way above mine. With that said I also have a 1998 genesis 1000LX that I bought new in 1998, and I converted to a Gen 2000 which my wonderful wife claimed as hers. That one I have an attachment too, not so much the 1995 gen 2. I'm 76 and it's...

    This Old (New?) Grill

Watching this closely as I'm facing the same dilemma with my 1985 Gen 2. NOS is almost nonexistent on everything I need. So, with that do I restore it as best I can and bring the old gal back to life making it my own creation and using it like my other grills or make it the best I could do yard...

Cooking time for thighs using Vortex ?

Because it's just Barb and myself I use my jumbo Joe instead of the performer. With large thighs it's about 35-40 minutes. I don't flip the thighs and still get great crispy skin and coating.

    Best Ribs I ever Made

Looks great Kemper. I've been leaning toward higher heat with my ribs 275-300 and have been very pleased with the results. Last ribs I did I cooked for 3 hours at 275-300. I spritzed every 45 minutes to 1 hour with apple juice and ACV mix and didn't wrap and sauced at the 3 hour mark for 25...

    Rib eye and some sides

Great looking cook Andy. Barb and I are the same way now, splitting a steak is just fine for the two of us. Still like my baker though and grilled corn on the bone is one of Barbs specialties, I could eat a bushel basket of those.

    My 2009 E320 doesn't have a liner.

    Slate Review - Meatheads AmazingRibs

Don't know about the N/S burners, after 26 years with my 1998 gen 2000 with its E/W burners and my E320 with the same I sure wouldn't trade for anything with N/S burners. It's all what you get used to. Never found anything I couldn't cook on those. But to each his own, whatever works for you use...

    Bob Correll Pork Steaks

Great to see you posting Jim, been awhile. Funny I was cruising through my recipes a few days ago looking for a rib recipe and ran across the high heat baby back rib recipe. Don't remember if that was yours or Bobs. Going to try those again as in my old age I can't do nearly as much as I used...

    Trying to understand lid-up grilling

Okay, I'll jump into this discussion and add my thoughts. My newest grill beside my Camp Chef pellet grill is a 2009 E320 gasser. Cooking burgers is a lid down process with that grill, same with the gen 2000. When we want nicely grilled anything it's the performer, Jumbo Joe or 22 kettle. Big...
