Any suggestions or mods for Charcoal Go Anywhere Vent for easier movement and not burning fingers?

Yes, Rub and Grub DOES ship to America. Costs a lil bit and takes some time, but definitely worth it. I almost got rid of my GA Charcoal because I hated the Weber vent cover so much. Got my Rub and Grub air slides and now it's still a cherished member of my family.

    Post your city, please

Yeah, it's not bad. But, we are in a smaller community in Brunswick. It's a good location because it's an hour south of Savannah and an hour north of Jacksonville. My wife can take the dog for a walk on the beach every day. But, it's not for everyone. Lol. If you are used to full on city life...

Thanks. We are looking forward to it. We are budgeting between $230-$250 a square foot. Half acre lot, on the lake, gated community, custom build. Lot was around $65k.

Lived most of my life in Oklahoma City. But, now we live in SE Georgia. Palm tree out front.... Can't see the ocean from our house, but we can smell it. lol We're renting while we build. Just bought a lot to build our new dream home. View from the lot. This will be our nightly...

Who Has Gas Assist But Chooses to Use Another Method to Light Coal (and why)?

It's still designed to be used with the chimney too. It's not an either/or. I've seen several people say this. I always use a chimney and always use the gas start. Works better than any other method to start the chimney.

    Burger press?

I have one but I pretty much only do smash burgers anymore. I have the half griddle for the Q and I'll smash and start on the griddle side, then finish on the normal grill side to get some actual flame and smoke on them. My wife loves thin patties so it's pretty much my go to process now.

    Instant Brands: Chapter 11 bankruptcy

This makes me sad. Both that they are going through bankruptcy but also that possibly the quality has gone down over the years to contribute to it. I absolutely love my Instapot. We have the 8 qt and if I only used it to make pinto beans in an hour and half and perfectly steamed, sticky white...

anyone tried only fire grate system - turn kettle into a smoker, $89 on amazon?

Ohh yes, then I can recommend it. Although I'd consider the aura one that @Michael Richards suggested if you decide you want to use it with baskets

anyone tried only fire grate system - turn kettle into a smoker, $89 on amazon?

I have one that I haven't used in over a year. Loved the concept at first, but it's not better than using a WSM and I can do indirect just fine already with my kettle. Plus I found that the lowered part comes low enough you can't have any coals above the top of a standard Weber coal basket...

    Jalapeno Poppers

Best ones I ever made were on the WSM. I cut the bacon in smaller strips to get one full wrap where the ends are both on top. Didn't overfill them with the cheese mix. and did a light glaze of BBQ sauce near the end. I've also done them where I cut the bacon into small strips that...

Two TVWBB trends in one cook.

Looks great. My wife isn't as enamored with the butterflied legs as I am so I might do the cubed breast as well next time.

Who Has Gas Assist But Chooses to Use Another Method to Light Coal (and why)?

You shouldn't need any other starter with the Matchlight. You are just wasting your candles. That's the point of matchlight. Just light the coals and they will start on their own.

    Oklahoma Sooners Sweep Florida State...

It's been an impressive run. In this day and age of players getting paid and pro sports being such a factor, it's so fun to watch these softball athletes play for the love of the game still. And, I still get a tear in my eye to see OKC get so much love and attention for a full week and a half...

    Selling Weber Flame

Ack! I'm building a new house and currently thinking about the design of my new grilling area/outdoor kitchen and this would be perfect to have. But, at a 17 hour drive from south Georgia, unfortunately I don't fit in the "local" category. lol Hey @Mark Combs you like the beach? Want to come...

    Which to keep?

Oh, and to add to that... My parent's home in Oklahoma is currently on the market and he had a 2014 model Spirit there that I let go in the estate sale. To give you full perspective on my thoughts about the 2 grills. lol

I may have cooked my last chicken wing....

That's exactly where I got this batch of legs for $.90 a pound. Wings were almost $3.00 a pound at the same store. Just sayin. lol

    Which to keep?

Keep the older one, clean up a bit more and sell the new Spirit to buy parts and possibly upgrades to the older one. My Dad had a Spirit that was a very early 2000s or late 90s model that he left at a house they sold in Kansas back in 2013. To this day I'm still mad at myself for not claiming...
